think if you have a pair of 29-30s toons OR a group of 3 25-28 ish toons you can complete this relatively quickly.

There are crops on the other side of the castle which like a good area to kill mobs and collect skulls. You camp at the hill to the side, and they run up. If they run away they tend to run into the fence.

The major dudes are located in the houses and one in the middle of the first crop, off the road. The other major mobs are in the castle.

A good tactic is to pull them into the first room of the castle and use a throwing weapon or spell to pull them there. Pick off the minions around the nanmed mobs. If you do it right the level 30 guy in the main room should be by himself and you just rush in and lop off his head :-P.

There is a mine south of the farming area that leads to the named miners.
When you return to kill the second named miner (as per the quest) be wary of the two gnome guards that pop after his death. They can be quite a surprise if you are not ready for them.

Follow the road to Hillsbrad (going west). They are located in South Hillsbrad right off the road. Look north for the foundry and blacksmiths. The iron is also in the workshop.

A note to player blacksmiths:
The forge and anvil in the Hillsbrad smithery is fully usable. So it is sometimes convenient to kill the Hillsbrad citizenry in order to smelt and/or smith your ore rather than pay a visit to the Undercity.

Soloed on my 23 rogue just a little bit ago. Sap and fight to get the blacksmith, then sap one inside, hit evasion, kill 2, vanish, come back and finish.

With a priest mage combo, I find it easier to have the mage run in and cast Arcane Explosion, and have the priest shield and heal him. Should be no problem then.

coords are 32, 45. I found verringtan outside of the house, and the apprentice blacksmiths inside the house. The blacksmiths come two at a time, lvl 25. The shipment of iron is inside the house, next to the anvil.

I just did it and managed to pull only 2 blacksmiths by DoTing one and sending a voidwalker after the other made things very easy

I did it solo at lvl 26 with my lock easy qs

As a 25 Warlock I pulled from the house and got three. With a Voidwalker pet I easily killed them. Walked into the house got the iron shipment and an alliance chest. North side of the house was the named smith and the last apprentice. Easy easy quest.

Has anybody yet managed to only pull only one mob out of the blacksmith's house instead of all of them? I tried this quest today as a lvl 24 priest with another lvl 24 mage and we failed miserably, even given all our crowd control options...

At level 36, the reputation reward is also scaled down to 10. (210 xp is correct)

I found this to be challenging and interesting for a 26 Hunter, with the usual elements of Classic's surreal fighting characteristics thrown in to make your day less interesting. Plan on killing dozens and dozens of mobs; not that there are a lot of them but simply because of the respawns. But that's good XP, right? Coming in from the road, I picked off the outrider footmen first. Then I tried pulling Blacksmith Verringtan, who is just between the road and the building but he always brought three adds with him, one of which is a caster who freezes your pet for six weeks and kills it. I couldn't find any angle to pull Verringtan from that didn't also include the Gang of Three.

Plan B. There are three Apprentice Blacksmiths or other mobs in the smithy. Pulling one brings the other two, so you'll just need to deal with three mobs. They all have stun, which I'm sure is necessary for making anything using a hammer and an anvil, right? Makes sense to...never mind. Once you kill them, you can pick up the Iron Shipment without aggroing the Gang of Four (or six or three hundred; I was never sure) outside the building.

Then you just need to deal with Verringtan and his friends. I dropped a Freezing Trap, sent the pet after Verringtan and tried to burn him down as quickly as possible. Keep in mind that they will all try to run at some point, so save a Concussive Shot for last. Then deal with the minions as the trap has worn off by then. Verrington has an unusually-long respawn, so if you don't see him, go do something else for awhile and he'll show up eventually, once he manages to make bail.

Descrizione

The humans of Hillsbrad have been putting up unexpected resistance. The problem appears to be that the townsfolk are being armed by the local blacksmith. We need to shut down all supply lines.

Your mission will be to execute Blacksmith Verringtan. Slay his apprentices as well. While there, bring back a shipment of iron from their stockpile. The supplies will come in handy when we are done with the conquering of Hillsbrad and begin razing Southshore.
