Three other guards are in the room with Morbent Fel. And one at the top of the stairs before you get to the room. pull the one from the top of the stairs then buff up and focus on the other 4. Pets and DOTS will help. Also make sure you are using the torch of the holy flame. This will degrade MF's Armor enough to help you destroy him. Soloing him may be an effort with out a pet. or being Lvl-60

Thanks for the info on all the guards around MF, just a quick question..... How can you use an item that is a quest reward for completing this quest?

This guy is a BEAR to kill. I am lv 43 hunter w/pet and teamed with a 29 warrior (I think) ... the guards are a pain to get at first. You will need (may need ...) some heals to get to kill him. One thing we both errored on was killing Morbent Fel BEFORE our visit to Sven that says "bring Morbent's Bane to Sven" ... I incorrectly thought that meant AFTER we killed him. WRONG! He basically wants to check out your weapon. You MUST see him also BEFORE you kill him ... or you will have to do it twice, like we did!! There was no special loot drop, no head, etc. Just his death to complete the quest, then a quick run back to Sven to finish up.

Well, I did the quest long time ago, with aid of friend... He was around lvl 40 and I were high 20's...
Now at lvl 40 I pretty easily killed him, and I didn't even disable his bubble.
But it is really important to remove it, makes it way easier.

This was a easy one to kill even at level 37 you just need to take out the guards around him.

You can solo this at level 34 maybe lower. Coords: 17, 33

You just take out 2 of the guards in the room, then die. Go res, kill 2 more, then die. Go res and now you have Morbent all alone, and if you have some shadow resistance, you can kill him without problems.

soloed as a level 33 shaman, throw a grounding totem, stoneclaw totem for the adds, and beat the crap outta morbent fel. i was able to kill him, then the adds with the Gift of Naaru and a health pot.

Soloed this as a 30 Combat Rogue. First I sapped Morbent, then moved around the corner and popped Blade flurry. I was able to kill the adds, then vanish. I bandaged and went back in on Morbent. I used the torch and swapped my weapon back in as soon as my shield was down. He's really easy, a weak melee attack and a weak shadowbolt that you can kick/gouge.

29 warlock and 29priest - VW tanks Morben, one of the adds Shackled, others two killed. just keep Morben under Curse of tongues,
Since my Voidwalker has 1800hp, he can survive some time against morbent =P
(if you affliction warlock u can drain mana as much as possible to force Morbent melee)

Soloed this as lvl 29 paladin. Took turns in taking his adds out and when i could get to him on his own it was just an endurance battle before he went down... Chucked a lesser mana potion was all

DO NOT GET RID OF MORBENT'S BANE AFTER YOU USE IT ON MORBENT FEL I did and now I have to do the damn quest over again. (unless somebody suggests how to correct this)

Just completed this solo as a level 36 hunter, it wasn't too hard. Kill all the mobs downstairs in the house, then the single one on the landing above. Go to the top of the stairs where you can see the mobs in the same room as morbent, send in your pet (mine was a bear). He will draw aggro from them all as well as morbent, pick off the mobs, just killed the last one when pet died and morbent came out to attack me. Hit feign death, wait for him to return to room, bandaged myself, revived pet, sent pet in to morbent, followed and used morbents bane, then backed off and shot him to pieces whilst pet drew the aggro. nice.

Im a lvl 28 lock and is about to kill Morbent fel whith the help of a friend.
To all those who say that this quest suck because there is no great item reward.. Get real.. I have gained over 20K exp and over 300 rep points for doing this. And when most of the quest is about flying from one part to another, its really easy exp. So stop complaining about this quest being a waste of time. Its worth doing.

I attempted this as a 32 (shadow) priest.

Okay, there was no way I, because I suck, could have killed morbent and his three guards. So what I did was pulled them, focus on one guard and kill it. By the time I'm finished, I'm dead. I do this with the other two guards after I rez.

This took about four deaths.

After, it was Morbent left. I buffed and got ready.

YOU HAVE TO EQUIP IT IN YOUR OFF HAND. Take off your two handed weapon if you have one, you have to equip it. I suggest putting the icon on your toolbar so you dont have to open your character thing to activate it.

You dont have be super close, just target Morbent, and right click the bane. You should see his shields dropping.

I got Morbent alone. The guards dont respawn for a bit =)

He's at the hill in Raven Hill Cemetary, where it's really dark, in the house on the 2nd floor. 17.33 I think it is ;)

Soloed him as lvl 35 druid without any problems, I just went in bear form, started to kill his adds, healed up when needed, till all adds were dead, then I equiped the Bane and used it, the shield went down and he got smaller. Easy 4k XP, if you don't count the damn pre Q's >P

Okay.

The way in to the house is not so bad: level 26-28 skeleton warders, plague spreaders and the like, and if you are on level for this quest they are easy. There are more on the first floor, and these are also easy.

The fun begins on the second floor. There is one additional 28 or so mob on the landing of the second floor, and he can be killed without pulling the rest. In the bedroom are Morbent Fel, a level 32 elite, and his three guards, two 29s and a 28. If you are on level for the quest, it will be almost impossible to solo this group of four with an elite at the heart of it. If you wait until the mid or later 30s, you should be able to manage it better, depending on class. Another strategy, if you are on level for the quest, is to take the guards one at a time and simply die a few times: they do not respawn that quickly, and you can get the quest done this way with 3-4 deaths ... one on one, you can take Morbent Fel if you are on level, the issue is dealing with his adds, so either bring more people, be a higher level, or take a few deaths.

Can be done but it 4 of us. I was at level 30 and everyone else was 26. It was tough very tough but the rewards were good especially the XP's

Above, I read people in a "predicament" of not being able to utilize their more powerful two-handed weapons while fighting Morbent Fel.

When I did this, I was level 30 (ret pally), and teamed up with a 27 warrior.

First of all, put the Morbent's Bane out on your action bar, as well as your best one-handed weapon, and your preferred two-handed weapon (Verigan's Fist for me). When you first begin to fight Morbent, already have your one-hander and Morbent's Bane equipped - right after you use Morbent's Bane, you can immediately switch to your two-handed weapon, as the effect of the bane lasts for one minute, regardless of whether or not you have it equipped after using.

At this point, I Judged w/ Seal of the Crusader, used Seal of Command, Consecration, and just hoped I didn't run out of mana. Thanks to my warrior teammate, we were able to take him out w/o too much trouble, once the adds were gone.

Not that hard, if you use a bit of strategy. After clearing the mobs on the ground floor and at the head of the stairs (which can all be single-pulled), I stealthed upstairs to Morbent Fel's room. He has three undead mobs with him: I Ambushed the strongest one first, then killed each one in turn, ignoring M.F. completely. He kept blasting me with shadow magic, but with the help of a healing potion I was able to kill all three mobs without dying myself. Once the last one was dead, I hit Vanish (my health was pretty low), stealthed around to behind M.F. and equipped the Bane. It takes 30 seconds to "charge up" once you equip it, so by the time it was ready I'd healed up from the mob fight. He aggros when you use the Bane, so I didn't get a sneak attack in on him, but without his shield and his undead buddies he's easy pickings. Just make sure to switch out the Bane right after you use it, and equip a real weapon in its place! Kick and Gouge kept him from casting much, and otherwise it was standard pounding with Sinister/Ghostly/Eviscerate. So-so rewards, but good XP and rep, and it's a fun fight!

After several tries, I finally finished this quest yesterday. First time, I (stupidly) tried to solo it at level 32- managed to kill everyone except Morbent Fel by using a potion and retaliation (I'm a warrior). Second time, I had a TERRIBLE group- and what should have been easy wasn't. I was with a level 36 warrior and a level 29 mage- the other warrior said he was ready to go and then just disappeared. Didn't see him again until after I left the group in disgust. The mage stood downstairs and watched me kill everything for her and then left the group for no apparent reason, leaving me to die. The third and final attempt was made with another warrior, level 31. The two of us had no problems, we went in with a plan to both use retaliate and focus on Morbent Fel- it took like 10 seconds and neither of us died. Thank goodness, cause if I had to try that crap a fourth time I would probably have punched a hole through my computer.

used same strategy as the hunter one (obviously without feign death, used sacrifise on voidwalker for shield).
Was easy.

I think I should have checked how to use the Bane before getting into fight. It should be held off hand and I have damn 2-handed sword (warrior) while I was tru=ying to figure out how to switch everything and not die, I did die. Had to go back, team up with elf that used it on him while I tank. Not too hart like that. The adds rez pretty quik right on top of you, so you should be quick.

did it at lvl 30 with a lvl 32 Pally and a lvl 30 druid. Forgot to use Morbent's Bane so it was a tough fight (druid lagged out during the fight) but we got him.

he was lvl 32 elite. Me, lvl 30 hunter, and a lvl 28 mage first took out all the adds around him, then ran like hell :) after we recovered, which was like ten seconds, we went back up, and took on morbent fel himself. At first it seemed like we were going to lose, then it appeared that neither of us had put morbent's bane on him -.- after that, it was a piece of cake. 3850 xp

my party camped him tonite (sorta) and we forgot to use the Bane on him...thus after the adds we lost two and i myself just barely beat him...thought he seemed unusually tough for a 32 elite. so my advice is use the damned Bane!

morbent isn't that hard once you get rid of all his guards

done this quest 3 times now, just did it solo on my rogue. tried to kill as many of his groupies as I could using evasion, vanished with low health then bandaged came back and whooped on him. couple kicks and gouges and he couldn't get a spell off.

I solo'd this at 30 with a 28 pet... went up took out the adds... died... ran back rezzed. drank ate, rezzed pet.. took him out no problem

I feel like such an idiot i forgot to actually Use the Morbents Bane, i just had it equipped and thought it would work. so i died a few times wondering why it didnt work, then i actually used it halfway through the fight, and just tried my best to keep him Silenced or in a concussion. it was easy. Concussion Blow Ftw

As pretty much everybody has said kill all his guards and then if you die just run back real quick and solo him. The only problem is the respawn rate on the mobs in the house is really fast so you have to be quick about it.

I try to kill morbent as a 30 level Warrior , kill all the mobs around the house and inside, then try to kill Morbent but I can't even shake him, do to me more than 300 damage per hit. my health is 1300+ hp and I die very quickly... not possible to kill in solo at this point of the game... :( I also try using Morbent's Bane but this just make me die quicker, is hard to switch to two-hand sword in the middle of the battle...

solo'd as a 34 shadow priest. took out adds first, shielded and ran away from morbent fel to lose aggro. healed myself then ran back up, used morbent's bane on him, mind flayed the crap outta him. shield and heal, mind flay and mind blast and this guy isn't too bad. it's a long fight, but not too hard.

First off, he's located in a house on top of the hill in Raven Hill Cemetary. He will be on the second floor with 3 lvl 27-30 mobs around him. He is a mage, and will cast AE concussion spells throughout the fight. He is level 35, and the only way to hit him is to have at least one person in your group use Morbent's Bane on him. Can be a tough fight, but as long as adds can be handled, it won't be too bad.

I couldn't find a group, so I tried it alone. I managed to bring him down *eventually*, but it was a near thing...I had maybe one heal left. I've specced restoration, so I'm not exactly a damage machine.

I didn't have to do anything creative, just fought in Bear until Fel's minions were dead, then took him down in Cat. I used the Bane on him, but I don't think it mattered, as he didn't have that aura around him anymore anyway. Guess it wears off...that should give you an idea of how long this fight was.

It could easily have gone the other way if he had interrupted a heal at just the wrong time. A group is far easier and faster, if you can get one.

you have to equip the shield buster they give you in the off hand to use it. but since i am two hand sword, that means you gotta fight your way up, draw morbent, then in the middle of the batle switch weapons, use it, switch back, and kill him. i dont see any way to do this as a solo. lucky had two other lvl 30"s w me.

am i doing something really dumb or what? i guess you could write a macro for this one thing, but id didnt.

Easier than I thought. I had my defense aura on because I knew I'd take a whomping until the adds were defeated. MFel hits you with all kinds of shadow spells so if your armor is high enough and your lvl isn't then maybe the shadow resistance aura is right for you. Anyhow, by the time I had killed his adds, and I had to use my bubble of immunity in the middle of it, he had run out of mana and was just hitting me for only about 40 pts of damage. I healed, broke his shield and let the onslaught begin. Make sure to use your exorcism on the undead adds and even turn undead to make it easier. MFel himself is human so you can't exorcise him. Hope this helps.

Does it matter if you don't use the Morbent's Bane? I didn't, and it was tough. We pulled all 4 of the people in the house upstairs, and killed all except Morbent. The mage had died and us two rogues vanished, so Morbent went back to his spot. We killed him without any guards and that helps.

I fought him twice now, haven't die yet, but everytime i tried to activate morbent's bane, my paly just held it in off-hand, and it does absolutely nothing... morbent's protective shield is not coming off....

It is possible to avoid his three guards. Kill everything except of the boss-pack, jump on top of the staircase right beside the entrance to the boss-room and jump down (when you jump up on the staircase you will pull the boss-pack). Run south-west towards the forest and 10-15 meters south-west the three mobs following Morbent will run back. Morbent wont though. Use the shrink item on him and he will be a lot easier if you are soloing.

I soloed this just now at lvl 33 as a warlock. I cleared to his room, healed up, killed his 3 adds, died, resurrected w/ a soulstone, rehealed, buffed, pet etc, then took him on 1v1. I used the succubus here, as the VW is horrible at keeping aggro, and he only melees if hes oom/doesn't hit very hard.Use the item to remove the shield then put your normal weapon(s) back on. I'm an alchemist so i had a shadow protection potion to help but I honestly think you can beat this guy at 30-35 with just a healing potion 1v1. Otherwise bring a friend or two to help with his adds.

Is this quest bugged? I have several times now been right on top of Morbent Fel and used the Morbent's Bane item and it doesn't work. Then I end up with another 3 min CD on the damned thing.

I did it solo as a level 35 Warlock. At first, it was still pretty challenging even at my level, and I died once. But before my second attempt, I realized that unlike everything else at the cemetery, Morbent Fel is a humanoid, not undead, and he can be feared. It became very easy after that. I just let my Voidwalker tank the adds, chain Fear on Morbent while I killed the adds one by one. Once it's just Morbent Fel left, keep DoTs on him, chain Fear and wand. Tap and Drain if mana gets low. I only used a Healthstone on my second attempt. Didn't have to soulstone rez, or sac my vw, or use any heal pot.
