The bones are found in the Kodo Graveyard. Mouse over the solitary kodo skulls and you'll see that you can use them. Once you open a skull, grab the bone but be ready to either fight or run. There's a better than 50% chance that a Kodo Apparation will spawn and attack you. They are level 38 and not too hard. Just watch your back, as the birds in the graveyard patrol and aggro easy.

If you can stealth, you can "open" the skull, and stealth before picking it up to avoid fighting the apparition.

If you're a hunter, just lay down a frost trap. Open the skull, and run away a bit then use "Feign Death" so the Kodo Apparation won't come after you.

If you're a lower level character trying to do this quest, be aware of the fact that sometimes some of the bones will spawn a Kodo Apparition, around level 39, and it hits pretty hard, so be prepared to run away.

The graveyard is at 51,60 incase anyone having trouble finding it.

Level 35 Paladin had no problem doing this. The guys who appear are lvl 37 and I had no problem with them. Quest took me literally 5 minutes. Lower levels who want to attempt this just run away from the guys, you'll have no problem.

You DO NOT kill the kodos for the bones, you right click the bones on the ground. The bones look like skulls.

Lvl 34 priest, piece of cake. Shield, get bone, run if apparition spawns (only had 2 spawns actually). If you have a bird guarding the bone: shield - fear bird - grab bone - run.

If your a hunter and doing this quest, here is one way to do it:

Step 1, find a kodo bone. it looks like a beast skull. These are located in the kodo graveyard.
Step 2, if it's within 10-25 yard of a buzzard, kill the buzzard.
Step 3 (this part is opitional), click on the buzzard you just killed and then type /fart or /insult or /chicken or /poke .
Step 4, place a frost trap on the kodo bone.
Step 5, collect your bone.
Step 6a, if a kodo appariation spawns, which will be between lvl 35-39, back away from it. Your freeze trap should of made it frozen for a short time.
Step 6b, Either proced to kill it, or use aspect of the cheatah and run away. Keep in mind if you run away, it might still be there when you get back. They tend to stick around for 1-4 minutes.

Oh, by the way. This can be done with a lvl 33 hunter with a lvl 32 pet (if the pet is good enough if you try to kill the kodo).

Edit: this is current as of patch 1.8. I hear that patch 1.9 will be out within the next 7 hours.

Did it really easy with my 34 Warlock. Killed the mobs that spawned when opening the skulls easy, just dot and let my voidy tank.
Also did the Kodo taming quest while i was there (60,62)

Completed at LEVEL 36 Rogue..
A fairly easy quest to complete. Take it slowely and know where you are, then it will be alright.
Doesn't always spawn a 'Kodo Appariation', but when it does it was 38-39. I managed to take it down if needed, but I found it quicker to just run for a couple of seconds and let it give up (even without any movement speed increase). I know I don't get any XP from them that way by running and it may be the cowardly way, but much faster then having to take them out each time.

I solo it at lvl 33 druid... just go prowled, then loot the bone and as fast as you can gain cheetah form and run! it is for 10 min maxi

I hadn't found the graveyard yet but when I was killed by a centaur, I rezzed there and did the quest while recovering from rez sickness. Level 34 elf hunter -- didn't even have to call my pet.

Of course, with rez sickness, I did a good bit of running away. So what?

As a frost mage all i did was run away when the kodo apeared, and once he disengaged i would come back make sure the area was clear and attack him, use my frost nova move back and continue attacking him until he died, (level 34)

the kodo apparitions only appeared three times and because I was a lvl 36 rogue, i could easily beat them. Easy XP!

SHIFT+Click will auto-loot, so hold the SHIFT key down when you click the bones and then you should have time to run/trap/send pet/hamstring/wingclip/stealth/kill any Kodo that spawns.

FYI - the apparitions will stay at the location you brought them out of their sleep. Had an apparition appear with each one. As a level 33 Rogue was no problem. Just run off. Did not use Vanish or Sprint once. The Bird Aggro is more of an problem than the apparitions

got 4 in 10 for the ghosts turning up after collecting the bones. I did not move after collection until they turned up, so it has nothing to do with standing on the bones I think.

The apps varied from 37 to 39 in level.

The bones are little heads in teh ground in the Kodo graveyard but on certain ones a Apparation will appear and will aggro and fight you...

did this quest at 33. was more of a loot and scoot on the bones. I didnt fight anything after the first bird that about killed me. Of course being a tauren druid helped to use catform prowl.

Very easy quest, solo at 34 hunter. It's very easy, and very worth the reward. When you pick up the bone, level 38 or 39 Kodo Ghost appears (not always).

I did this quest as a 33 Warlock. With my pet voidwalker I could grab 2 bones at a time, then run out... Most of the time, my voidwalker made it out too, but not always. Be careful, the apparitions tend to stick around for a while.

very easy, I did it at a lvl 33 gnome mage... just gather the bones (Skulls) and sometimes a ghost will spawn (lvl 37-38) just frost nova and blink away, I didn't even need Polymorph.xP ... btw Nice necklace if you haven't had one yet.

Soloed as 33 orc hunter set freeze trap before looting bones. Aparition pops and freeze trap goes off. Hit Cheetah and run like hell. Only 4 ap spawns the whole time.

Be sure to kill the buzzards around your bone first because some of the bones spawn a lvl 37-38 kodo apparation u get to fight ;)

The kodo graveyard's in the 'dead' center of the map. The only kodos you need to worry about are the level 37 & 38 elite apparition kodos.
They're easy enough to escape from since they're quite slow.
The graveyard also helps with the quest to get the three skins from the aging kodos.
One of the bones to collect that's close to the goblin seller is what I call a stasis trap, sticking you in a crouched position without being able to stand up or collect anything. I wound up logging out and back in again.. with the "you are dead" message, of course. rrrrrr..

Finished this quest today. Really easy, 35 NE Hunter. Soloed the appriations that formed. If you are going to kill the apparitions clear some of those birds in the graveyard. Thye seemed to aggro anytime I started fighting. So I cleared out a bunch and finished the quest.

37 Night Elf Druid - Everyone's right about how easy this quest is. The only annoying thing is the birds. For druids, just cast hibernate on them (the birds) and just watch out for the Kodo. If there are no birds, you can just cast hibernate on the Kodo. Other than that - it's a breeze. For mages they could use polymorph.

This may be obvious to most, but I didn't figure it out for a few minutes. The "bones" you need to collect are received by right clicking on the skulls scattered throughout the graveyard.

Doing the quest once, I had 6 Kodo Apparations spawn out of 10 interactions with the Kodo Bones. It was a 1:1 ratio until the last four interactions, so it's likely programmed as a 50/50 chance.

ignoring the adds does not despawn them, they will linger for several minutes (much longer than the bone respawn timers) which means if its busy a person can be forced to return and kill their own adds or better yet, be forced to kill someone elses. Its realistically quicker to just kill them so you can run back and scoop the bones again the moment they respawn and not then run the risk of having the quest item ninja'd while you kill your own add from 2 minutes ago

Also I had 8 out of 10 spawn.. yay for being the most unlucky in comments to date lol

Can easily solo it at 33 but you'll have to run away from couple of lv38 ghost kodos that have a chance of appearing when you loot a skull off the ground. Watch out for the vultures too.

If you are doing as a Mage (I did the quests level 37) you can do the whole quest without engaging in fights. Get the bones away from the Carrions and make sure you loot ready to blink away as soon you get the credit, the Kodo Apparitions wont aggro you that way.

I was able to do this at lvl 33 as an orc hunter

In the west side of the graveyard I would set down freezing traps before interacting with the bones. There's a high chance a kodo will spawn on the bones after you finish "opening" the bones, so the trap will freeze the kodo. Then use aspect of the cheetah to kite the kodo towards ghostwalker post. There's a spot you can use to walk up the hill and the guard will eventually aggro and help you kill the kodo.

The quest reward was my first necklace, so it was definitely worth it. :) Hope this helped someone.
