Easier with a friend, but not hard. Cave at 43,46 has a moonkin stone that you put the dust on. A level 12-13 will spawn outside and come in at you.

When summoned, Lunaclaw will not aggro the other mobs, so there is no need to clear. You can run into the cave, take the death from the other mobs, it's a relatively short run from the graveyard. Rez on the stone, be sure to buff yourself like I forgot to do, and summon Lunaclaw.

Moonfire, (I tossed Rejuv on myself from the start) and Wrath, rinse and repeat until dead. I popped one Minor Health Pot but that was it. If I'd been buffed I may not have needed that. A relatively easy fight, once you get past the mobs guarding the cave.

Yes That is a extremely annoying Quest But it is easier if someone helps you with it i.e a mage aleast lv 50

Soloable. Just run around the outside mobs into the cave, its empty. Lunaclaw is weak, hits for about 14-18. Easily outhealable. Just get around the outside mobs and your set.

I had a real hard time killing the level 13 moonkin infront of the cave. After failing multiple times, I decided to rank 1 moonfire kite him to the guards in auderdine.

1st time i tried this i didnt realise and was facing the wrong way died and didnt have any dust...

back to the start and 2nd time knew what to expect and no problems :)

That darn quest is so hard, the cave outside lunaclaw is full of level 13 moonkin. You are like level 10 !!!! when you try to do this quest !! The horde version of this quest is so easy compared to the alliance one, no add to be bother with, you spawn lunaclaw and kill it no problem whatsoever. No clue why they made the alliance version of this quest so hard.

Just so you know, you can't root him inside the cave.

Soon as you activate the stone, a good idea would be to get out of the cave as soon as possible.

The Correct Way for ALLIANCE.

Get the quest, take boat or fly to auberdine. Head down the road due EAST! Stop at the first cave you see with moonkins. Go Inside, use the powder on the stone. Kill Lunaclaw, WAIT - SPEAK WITH THE SPIRIT. Your done, head back.

As Alliance I always find this cave hard to find (ive made 3 druids), literally use the 43,46 coordinates, or you can run around all day finding the wrong caves.

hi, you mentioned that it spawned a lvl 10 owlbeast, but when i come to do this it spawned a lvl 12 one, ouch.

As i was inside the cave, waiting for the cooldown on my mana potion to be over, another level 10 druid entered the cave and summoned the bear:) I felt sorry for the guy, as he got realy badly beaten up, so I helped him... he spoke to the spirit, thanked me and ran away (never thought of me needing help perhaps...), then I tried talking to the spirit... hehehe, no problem, quest done:) And we were not grouped:)

When you leave Auberdine on the Northern road out of town that runs West to East there are Moonkins directly East where the road makes a T shape when it meets the main road that runs North to South.

I found there to be 2 small caves, they look like huge sunken piles of rocks :p One was a bit North of where the road from Auberdine took me, one a tiny bit South. I found the stone in the Northern cave. I also found there to be only a few lvl 11-12 Moonkins that you have to pull if you run around carefully.

Lunaclaw was lvl 12, and not much more difficult than the lvl 12's outside, if at all. If you're having trouble... uh maybe try using your Moonfire and Rejuvenation from the get go, and melee? *laugh* It's simple :x

Finding the cave: not so hard.

Killing the lvl 13 moonkins @ lvl 10 (lvl 10 quest): pretty damn hard.

It's absolutely doable at Lvl 10. I had only 1 green item (that staff). Just kill the moonkins outside one by one, until you can enter the cave safely. Then regenerate (food/drinks), and use the powder. Lunarclaw will come into the cave, so keep an eye out and begin casting wrath, then moonfire, then wrath over and over (as long as the damage over time part of moonfire still is ticking), then monfire again. Don't forget to heal yourself, Rejuvenation early on, and Healing Touch at the latest of being at half health.
And be sure to have purchased the newest ranks of all spells before you do this quest. Really not hard.
EDIT: And be sure you have buffed yourself with Mark of the Wild Rank 2 and Thorns, that helps a lot !

Went through the purple portal in Darnassus then took a left and took the hyppogriff to Auberdine. There I headed directly east, killed a few Owls outside the cave (it was DIRECTLY east of Auberdine, at 43, 46) then ran in and used the dust. Luna spawned, I ran and lost aggro, came back and whipped him. I'm not twinked, I don't have good items save for the staff from some collection quest of which I never melee'd Luna, no need to.

Owl Killing:
1. Entangle
2. Moonfire
3. Wrath
4. Entangle
5. Wrath until dead.

Luna Killing:
1. Moonfire
2. Wrath until dead.

Worked perfectly and with luna my health didn't even get half empty. Make sure you have Mark of the Wild and Thorns on (if you didn't already know that, don't play a druid).

found the stone at 43,45. Just stand near it and right click on the dust in your backpack. The monster spawns behind u. I killed him easily with my lvl 12 druid. I spawned wrath, then casted moonfire. Then regrowth. Then spawned wrath again.

this quest is almost too easy, just spam Wrath and throw in a heal if necessary xD

When I used my moondust the first time and Lunaclaw appeared, I died. Well somehow another, I was trying to move my moondust to my inventory and I lost it. Is there a way that I could get more moondust? I went back to Darnassus to the guy who gave me the quest but he didn't give me anymore. Please let me know on how I can receive more so I can kill Lunaclaw. Thanks.

To get to Auberdine you have to go through the portal in Darnassus its in a small little island and you cant miss it because it has a pink glow. its just next to cenarion

Solo'd at lvl 12, wasn't too much of a big deal although the moonkin do pack a punch.

- Location is Darkshore, the same place Auberdine is.
(Either transport to moonglade and take the hippogryph to Rut'theran village,
then take the hippogryph to Auberdine, Darkshore, OR go to Darnassus,
behind the bank is a pink glowing tree, walk around there to transport to
Rut'theran village and take the hippogryph to Auberdine, Darkshore.

- Walk out of Auberdine to the co-ordinates 43,45. There is the cave with a
stone with a pale blue glow. Go to your inventory and right click your
powder. (Stand near the stone, the stones obvious to see)
There are other caves and no easy way to describe the difference between
them so you'll need co-ord add ons if you don't want to search each one.

- He will appear at the enterance of the cave so turn round immediatly. I wasn't
fast enough to capture him in vines before he reached me and obviously because
your inside the cave you can't vine him then.

Recommendations:-
-----------------
- Finish all of your quests in Teldrassil. You'll reach lvl 11-12 that way
before you face him.
- Ensure mana is full, you may require a healing spell.
- Pelt him with wrath spells :P He's easy enough.
- Talk to his spirit afterwards to complete that section of the quest.

Let me spell this out,after you talk to the bearwalker guy in the centarion enclave and go to the moonglade and talk to the bear. Go back 2 Darnassus and take the purple potal to the port. onceat the port find the boat to darkshore and take a boat to auberdine, the continent across from were you start the gameat lvl 1. Go to the cave outside the city, there is a road the goes east from the city that ends in a fork and one fork goes to the cave. Now, there are a lot of high lvl moonkins so if ur lvl 10, which you probably are, get a higher lvl to help you, (i had the luck of a lvl 17 helping me) and summon the boss and kill him(easy kill) and TALK TO HIM AND CLICK ON UR ANSWER! go back 2 bearwalker and bear form is yours! :-D

I cant see how anyone could have any problem with this guy at lvl 10. Hes lvl 12 and comes running into the cave when u apply moondus. Cast 2-3 wraths while he runs towards u, when he starts beating on u hit him with a Moonfire and then just spam Wraths. If anything goes wrong pop a potion or cast Rejuvenation. Very simple. Wierd thing is the Luna is 12 while u fight him but his spirit is lvl 13 o.O

personally i dont c how this quest could possibly be a level 10 quest. for starters there are level 13s surrounding the cave. then there is luna who is level 12. i think the quest should be at least 11 or 12 liek the paladins rez spell.

Im trying to do this quest,
but I have failed twice.

I must do something wrong.

I get the quest from Darnassus, together with "Cenarion Moondust"
I travel to the cave East of Auberdine.
Apply the dust to the stone,
then comes Lunaclaw (red), and I kill it.
Some moments later Lunaclaws spirit (green) comes, and I talk to it.
The second time I tried to attack the spirit, but got a invalid target.
Then I think im finished, and runs/flies back to Darnassus, but can't finish the quest, he is still standing with a grey questionmark.

I dont want to fail a third time, so what have I missed,

For anyone having problems with this, make sure to train in First Aid and have a Linen Bandage. When you get low on life, just root and back off and bandage. You will also begin to regen mana as well =D

It might have been luck, but at the cave, I was able to go around and stand on top of it, pull the lone Moonkin who stands right in front of it, kill it, and sneak in. Saved me a lot of trouble trying to clear the path to it.

Er, that was easy as pie. Did it at 10. Go in, kill some 11-12's (ezmode), drink up, summon and kill the guy. What's hard?

Quest starts in the Cenarion Enclave of Darnassus. The NPC to give you the Quest is on the second floor above the other Druid trainers. His name is Mathrengy Bearwalker <Druid Trainer>. Just speak with a guard in the city if you cannot find him in the Cenarion Enclave.

Follow the quest as outlined in your quest logs, I don't want to spoil the adventure, but it seems that some Druids didn't know where this quest started and finidhed, so I figured that I would at least share what I know.

I have a cheap solution to this :D

Made it simple as a level 10.
All I did was die on top of the cave, (or rush in and die) and then res inside the cave.

Voila, you are in and all you have to do is spawn him and kill him.

Actually if you go behind the bank in Darnassas you find a portal in a pink glow. Go through it to the other side catch teh boat there at the docks, when you see sandy shore jump off teh boat and go right that takes you to Auburndale. From there follow th epath out of the town to where the road splits to the left go left the caves are on the right side you have to kill all the moonkins there to get inside th ecave, Once inside the cave right click on your moondust and then he appears. I believe he is a lvl 12 easy kill.

Now I've got the damn quest, but NO ONE is saying where Auberdine. Where is it, it isn't on the freaking map. Is it in Teldrassil, is it in Moonglade, is it in Darmassus or is it in a place that they haven't sent me yet?

I tried to do this as a level 10 druid solo. It's tough. I wasn't sure I had the right cave, since the no one mentioned the fact that there are level 11-13 moonkins guarding the cave. I was able to solo the 11's and 12's with some effort, but the 13 ate me for lunch. Luckily a bored 13 rogue came through about that time and took out the 13 for me, leaving me a clear path into the cave. Once I was in, killing Lunaclaw by myself was no big deal.

you click the quest and abandon that quest and talk to Mathrengy Bearwalker and you can start the body and heart again, then you can get that moondust....

Lol, meanwhile Horde have to fight no Moonkin, just Lunaclaw. Did this easily as a level 10 Horde since there were no Moonkin involved, no way can I kill a level 13 Moonkin

holy.. this was horrible.. i didn't die once, not a single time, from level 1 to level 10.. on my venture to get to Auberdine, i wasn't aware of the portal in Darnassus until i just read this thread. so i travelled South on the road in Moonglade, got into the Felwood cave, and was immediately slaughtered by some kind of monster. i didn't even have a second to think. so i released and ended up in deep Felwood. at which point i was slaughtered again. and again. now i'm waiting in Moonglade for my hearthstone to finish the cooldown so i can go back to Darnassus and take the portal. yeah, i feel like a moron.

Did this at lvl 10, don't understand how people struggle, I didn't even use any heals or anything.

When you start make sure you have mark of the wild and thorns active, make sure you have full health and mana, face the cavern entrance when using the dust, when you see him select and just keep casting wrath and nothing else.

I died trying to get to the cave thanks to the Moonkin, your best bet is going aroung, and jumping inside from the top side of it even with 1 of them close by the entrance, I didn't attract aggro.

I had to do the quest body and soul and i made it to the moonkin stone. When i used the moondust lunaclaw came out but because i was low lvl i died. I dont have any more moondust now. Where do i get some from?

My druid was givin the body and heart quest. I found the Moonkin stone and used moondust. Lunaclaw came but i was killed cause i was a low lvl. Now i have no more moondust. where can i get some? I have already been back to who gave me the quest and he didnt give me anything.

The dust is one time use only. If you aren't successful in your attempt to defeat Lunaclaw... and you don't back it back to him before someone else defeats him... well whoops. The only solution I saw was to abandon the quest and pick it up again :-(

If you haven't hearthed to Darnassus, just Teleport to Moonglade and use the flight point there to Rut'Theran Village for a quick run back to the quest giver.

The most difficult part of this is getting to the cave, once in there get your health and mana to full, stand behind the stone and face out, then trap with Entangling Roots and spam wrath. If you fail, change class, it's that easy.

Rooting the level 13 moonkin drains a lot of your mana and often fails at level 10. It's much more efficient use of you time and energy to avoid them. You should be able to manage the level 11-12 moonkin.

I figured I was going to have to do this alone, so I decided to wait until I was a higher level. At 13 I went to Darkshore and started killing random stuff and skinning it. I saw a guy killing a moonkin, and then the spirit spawned. I went over and talked to it and the quest completed.
