I found this quest to be a lot easier if you clear out the path to the silverwing hold and the little house as well before you start the quest. He will run directly in to the house and not have to fight his way in. When you get in the house he'll walk around for a second and then 4 mobs will come in. Healers can heal the NPCs and just let them fight. Keep Torek alive or you fail the quest. If you die and Torek is still up, don't release until he has killed the mobs, you should still get credit for the quest.

The biggest problem with finishing this quest it would seem is Alliance people coming and killing Torek to keep you from completing it. That happened to me 3 times in one evening.

I have tried 3 times and failed every time. We killed everything and then Torek just stands there and the last 4 elves never appear.

Completed last night without difficulty. I cleared the path up to the Outpost, and the Outpost itself, before running back and initiating the quest. Torek and his three henchmen then ran (no walking!) up inside the Outpost.

We waited maybe fifteen seconds or so before Duriel and three night elf NPCs spawned inside. After defeating them, Torek ordered me to report to Splintertree while he and his forces held the Outpost. I did not wait to see if/when he despawned.

Make sure that the other Horde warriors have spawned before you start the quest. The first time I attempted it, I was under the impression that he would summon help ... I was wrong.

In agreement with previous posters, clearing the path and the house first help speed the quest up.

Torek still despawns after 2 minutes, quest is not fixed as of 4/16/2007.

Tried 3 times so far still to no avail.

as of 17/05/07, torek does not regen hp out of combat like other "escort" npcs do - started the quest with only him around and figured I could just solo it, but by the time the four nightelves appeared, he was at 40% hp and died.

Duriel Moonfire seems to never spawn. I put in a ticket and the GM told me that this is a known issue and they would try(?) to fix it on a future update. And I was really looking forward to getting that Polished Walking Staff.

UPDATE 10 August: I abandoned and restarted. Duriel and 4 warriors ran in the door once all the people were cleared from the building. After dying because I assumed the quest was still bugged, I abandoned it again. This time I cleared the path to the building and all defenders in the building before taking the quest. Concentrate attacks on Duriel and it's a piece of cake.

I have done this quest like 6 or 7 times and the boss doesnt spawn... even if you gain 2400 xp... it is not worth it to do it... I am still not able to do this quest...... if anybody knows about the bug being fixed... let me know!

Or how to make this guy spawn... anybody?

K i figgured it out all u have to do is go in before u start the quest and kill all the guys outside of the outpost then start the quest go in the outpost with TUROK KILL ALL the guys and then he will say "we will stay here u go report back to whoever" and ur quest will say compleated! and ur done

I just tried it 4 times. Boss still wont spawn. GM says they are aware of it. I guess fixing this quest is not a priority given how long the problem has existed.

Well, I did this quest on my shaman, boss didn't pop.
Did it on my priest, she popped, no problems.

Doing it on my hunter now...(lvl 23)
1) Boss popped, aggroed ME, killed me (can't FD yet and disengage is useless)
2) Right as I start the quest, some !@#$%^bag lvl 29 Alli hunter kills all my NPCs.
3) After waiting 20min for his guards to repop, I tried it with him alone, HE got killed.
4) He respawned with guards and I completed it.

Yeah, I'm having the same problems. I tried this 3 times: twice I cleared the entrance and the house, and went back to start the quest. He just runs into the building, standing around until he disappears. The third time I decided to let the Night Elves respawn and fought them with Torek, and the same thing happened.

ugh... duriel mooneifre isnt spawning and its pissing me off! Torek runs in. I kill half the guys. he walks around for 5 minutes like a %^&*!@. she doesnt spawn. wtf?

just abandon this one if it doesn't work for you. I spent a whole day doing this quest over and over, the chick you have to kill never spawned for me. tried everything suggested, nothing worked. :(

Even at level 30 i still cant figure out whats wrong with quest. I ticketed and they said they will fix this problem personally, but from the look of these posts they dont try to fix it. Hey Blizzard... FIX THE FRIGGIN QUEST!

The raiders arent spawning...what the hell. Torek has to tank and my pet dies within the first 8 NE's. How long does it take for the raiders to spawn?

Ok it aint frikkin worth it, I am following wow-pro's guide and it says clean all the mobs and I did that but Torek just walks around inside the house. So I tried with all the mobs there and same thing happened
after a while it says I failed -.- WTF IS GOING ON HERE? Is blizz trying to get us mad or something :S

I'ev Tried it 3 times<lvl 22 Hunter> and have died all 3 times. Named along with 3 helpers jump us after we clear building. Clearing the building befor starting quests sounds like a good idea

i have done this quest 3 times now and every time torek's gang and i storm the encampment and kill everybody, but there is no duriel moonfire to be found. So we just sit in the room until they disappear and i fail the quest. Any help here would be great.

I have completed the quest but I can't find Ertog to turn it in. I've looked all over Splintertree and he isn't there. The quest says done in my log.
Where can I find him?

Ran into the middle of this quest as an Alliance Warrior level 23. The Horde player must have died or gotten lost, never saw them at the outpost, I managed to kill a few of Torek's guards but he took me out.

we try to do it twice last night, Torek never die, but the final wave Of NE never showed up.
and after abound 60 sec.
the quest got "failed"

we've done it in 1.7.
so it's very likely broken in 1.8, isn't it?

as a hunter i did what i'm supossed to do and stand behind and attack with my bow,it went all good,but once we entered the building 4 silverwing's started attacking me since i was the closest,so i obiously died.

This quest is soooo easy i did it at level 22 and got it. I even killed an alliance 1 level higher than me.

Durial is not spawning. I ran this quest 3 times and she never showed up once.

Took me 3 or 4 tries at lvl 26 (finished @ lvl 27) as a Tauren Shaman. I ended up just doing the first few as ranged, then running in and killing them off as quickly as possible to avoid damage to Torek. Just take it as slowly as possible, don't aggro the ones inside the room until the orcs do it for you (heal yourself etc in that time) and don't bother looting the night elves till you're finished the quest. Eventually I died when the last 4 rushed in. I managed to take down 1, and weaken the other but I'd aggro'ed so much that Torek had plenty of health to kill the rest, so despite my death I still finished it. Don't forget to collect the loot at the end and claim your reward (which I just vendored) at Splinter Tree

Solo'd it on a 23 shaman, worked fine. Really great q, with Torek yelling horde slogans for the whole thing.

Possibly the most fun quest I've ever done, wish I could retry it.

I've tried to run this quest about three times and each time it turns into a PVP war. Alliance people like to hang out in the village and kill Torek, someone calls in Horde backup, Alliance call back up, big melee ensues.

I ran this 7 times over 2 days (just to be sure) before contacting a GM. Unfortunately, she wasn't very helpful. She kept telling me that I must be getting too far away from the group, or running ahead of them all, or letting Torek die. I told her multiple times that none of these was the case. We went around in circles 3 times until her suppositions started to get a little insulting. I couldn't seem to get through to her that I was doing everything correctly and there must be a problem with the final mobs not showing up for the quest. She told me that she would "take care of the problem"...not sure what that means. Is it working for anyone yet?

I attempted this quest exactly the same way that I successfully did it with my blood knight a few weeks ago. Cleared the path and building then ran back to fetch Torek and pals. Made it to the building, so far so good. But not one elf spawned when they entered. After a few minutes of them wandering aimlessly around scratching their heads, the quest was returned as failed. Very irritating.

hmm looks like im not the only one which doesnt understand why the quest is failed..:P i go throught all silverwing post,go up in a building and just stand there for 5 minutes.. no spawns no nothing..:P then just they dissapear and the quest is failed..:P nice.. what to do m8s?

So, I'm running around doing the "Lost Pages" quest and I happen to run across Torek and 3 of his warriors. Before I had come to this quest I had already been killing the Night Elves at the Silver Wing Outpost for sport. Now that I have a quest to do it again I'm going to enjoy it even more. This quest was fun for me as a Hunter at level 27 with a 26 pet. As usual, the Night Elves went down fast.

My Results:
You gain 2400 experience.
Your reputation with Orgrimmar has greatly increased.

What happens after they storm in and kill those inside? Do you have to kill all outside too? Heard that 4 guards pop up, they never come... and where is Duriel Moonfire?

Strange. Just did the quest 5 minutes ago. Duriel spawned just fine along with her 3-4 bodyguards.

Weirdest part about it, though, is that the Orc Raiders did not appear. There was only Torek to go there with. Being a Pally I could heal him so it went quite okay.

Not sure where to turn this quest in. It says complete. But I think the guy was killed. What happens next. I've done so many quests today, can't remember where I picked it up. Any help would be appreciated.

it isnt broken the orcs take a while to spawn after a person completes the quest but the leader doesnt take as much time and if you fail the quest and then run it again right after then the last group of mobs wont come in so you cant kill them so just take your time and stop being noobs i just did it 10 min ago and made sure to find the problems that were posted here and it works fine ***if you cant find the guys after you failed it once make sure you abandon the quest this allows you to see the main dude (but keep in mind his friends are just on timers

I did this one solo as a lvl 27 tauren shamen, let me tell you it is not only really easy but is alot of fun. i even had a punk nightelf come and try to kill the npc's that i was helping and i didnt even have to lift a finger, the swarmed him and his pet before he could even run away. didnt lose one npc during the while thing, those guys are real tough.

I'm having the issues with Duriel not showing up. The first time I accepted the quest, Torek had only a sliver of health left but the other three orcs were fine. I can't bandage or heal (hunter, need to take up first aid) and he died pretty fast. I expected the quest to fail at that point. I abandoned it, went back and got it again, we made it through, killed all the guards and Duriel never popped back up. Frustrating. I've opened a ticket and I'm getting ready to try the quest again.

I tried to start it a third time. Same issue with no Duriel showing up. I'm in Lothar and the GM I talked to said it was a 'known issue' and they were working to fix it.

solo'd in about 4 mins, 26 warrior, i simply killed all the mobs b4 seeing torek about the quest we walked all the way through to the house, 20 seconds afterwards the 4 or 5 night elf come, ihad to use a health potion but the npcs killed them pretty quickly with no loss' on our side very easy. 2400 xp, i must say though i tried it the day before with a 21 warior and we failed when we got jumped at the end, the reason for that was that torek had no others with him when we picked up the quest, (we didnt know at the time they were even there lol)

Where do I find Duriel Moonfire?

Torek and other dudes just run in the house and when we are killed 5 night elves there, they just stand there -> quest failed.

I just tried to run this quest tonight, and it must still be broken. I ran it 5 times in a row, and the boss would never spawn at the outpost. We would all just sit there until I got the quest failed message. Looks to be a really easy quest if I can ever get it to work. Opened a GM ticket, but had to log after an hour, and had not had a response at that point.

Everytime I do this quest it has to be repeated. Turok is alone many times, without his three soldiers, or you fight to the end and the final elf fails to appear. What a pain. Come on Blizz this quest needs fixing.

And a new twist, as I am sitting at the spot as I write this. Turok is standing with his three soldiers, but as I approach, they disappear. What a load of #$@%#

Even at higher levels, this quest is quite tricky. Make sure to clear the area prior to starting the quest

Once clear, start the quest and walk with him to the keep.

When you arrive, walk all the way in and onto the small porch. The boss and minions enter through the main door and will engage Torek and gang.

Focus on assisting Torek as the quest is failed if he dies. If you should die, don't release right away as you can still complete the quest if they succeed.

As per WoW Classic the four-pack spawn seems to focus on the player closest to the buildings' entrance which makes it very hard to solo.
It's best to bring along an ally :)

Don't waste your time with this quest. The ads will respawn faster than you can kill them.

Did as 27 rogue, extremely easy, if you walk all the way to the back you wont even get attacked, the level 24 mob takes a while and you can kill the other 3 with only one of your guards dying

keep torek alive. even if you kill the last group of nightelf with duriel, and the boys cheer, you wont get credit.
you can even die and run back, and they might be alive still. so dont give up until torek dies.

My raiders and I are about to attack the Silverwing Outpost to the west. Our target is its leader, Duriel Moonfire. Scouts report the outpost is defended heavily with sentinels and warriors. The battle will be glorious!

Do you want to share in the glory, <name>, and aid us? If so, then when it's over you can report our success to my superior, Ertog Ragetusk in Splintertree.
