You must have 225 First Aid to get this quest and be at least level 35.

I recommend putting the triage bandages on a hotkey or an action bar. Your priority should be to first bandage critical, then badly injured, and then injured.

The reward will be Artisan First Aid. If you want, bring along mageweave and runecloth to get your skill up to 300 while there.
240 - he gives you heavy mageweave bandages
260 - runecloth bandages
290 - heavy runecloth bandagse

This is the easiest quest i've done. What I do is click on one of the injured NPC's, click on the triage bandage, click on another injured NPC but let yourself finish bandaging the other one, and click on the triage bandage again. Keep repeating the process until quest is complete. Seems confusing the way I explained it but it's how I always do it.

First your character must be atleast level 35.
You must have your First Aid skill at 225.

Go to Ironforge.
Find the First Aid Trainer Nissa; she is in a shop right across from the gryphon landing in the great forge area.
Get the quest from her to go to Theramore and visit Dr Gustov.
Travel to Theramore; likely to the Wetlands and then to Theramore by ship.
Once in Theramore go to the keep; northwest portion of the city if I recall; once you come out of the docks take the pathway to the right; follow it to the warrior training area; then go right to get to the entrance.
Once into the keep; go right, then left, he is in the room in the back right corner of the keep.
Go to Dr Gustov and get the quest.

Key requirement is to save 15 injured all the while you will have injured dying - just cant let more than 6 die.

Now here are the tricks:
- Press the "v" key. This will show a title and status bar over all the injured soldiers. This makes it easy to see which soldiers are critical, badly or just injured.
- Step forward through the Dr so you have your character's back to the doctor; from this position you will be able to select and heal the patients without moving around.
- Use the bandages the Dr gives you.

Now at first I was confused and wasted alot of time looking for critically injured soldiers - initially there won't be any - only badly injured and injured soldiers. Just work on the Badly injured first.
- Now select a soldier and heal him with the bandages - good idea to put the bandages on a hot key spot just for the quest. The healing takes about 5 seconds for each patient; so it is slow.
- Use the time while you are healing wisely. Use it to look around for other patients. Find the Critically and Badly injured soldiers if there are any. While you are healing one soldier you can select your next patient. Once you finish healing one you should have the next one selected and this allows you to press your hot key and imediately start healing the next soldier. Believe me - every little bit of time you can take advantage of will help.

There is a point to the Triage. In Triage, you help who you can and need. Leaving the critically and mildly wounded be.

Ignore 'critical', help 'badly' and when badly are not available help 'injured'.

I ended up getting 3k xp for doing this one, even with my level at 51 Warlock.

Took me 2 tries to get it done, like the guest giver says, Crits 1st, then badly wounded, then injured ones.

Found it helpful to drop the quest givers bandages into a hot key, then while you are working on one guy, click on the next guy right next to him. So when you are done with the 1st one, hit your hot key and you can do the 2nd guy immediately while looking around the room for the Critical guys.

Also you can get people to help you with the quest. Normally by the time you are done you will have extra triage bandages. Make sure you save them and help other people when you can.

The quest must be bugged. I started it and all but two of the beds had guys standing up on them. Only two of the beds had guys lying down, the rest stood up the whole time and didn't die.

I just sat near the two beds that were actually working and healed those two beds over and over until I completed it. Ah well, would have been more interesting if it was working

alrighty here is how you do this quest step by step. this is for alliance side. first you have to be level 40 before nissa will talk to you in ironforge. all you gotta do to find her is ask any guard where the first aid trainer is. she will send you on a quest for the alliance trauma team. also i had skill level 225 so im not sure if she will let you have the quest with a skill level under that. best bet is to have it maxed. second thing you do is get on a griffin and head to wetlands/menthil harbor. take the boat on the left side of the docks to theramore. get off the boat and go straight like your running to duskwillow marsh. on the right hand side you'll see some soldiers hitting the practice dummies. go in that first castle there and hang a right inside and you'll see the good doctor there in a room with a bunch of beds. go up to him and get the quest. you will get a bandage that says. triage bandage and will have 20 charges on it.

now the tricky part is you have to cure the critical first, then badly wounded. then just regular injuried. you have to cure 15 patients before 6 of them die inorder to finish this quest. took me a few tries to finish it but i found that when you start to heal one click on the on the next most wounded patient and as soon as the frist one is finished click on the bandage again and that way you can just chain heal with out having to look around first.

you have plenty of time to look around and see which patienst have spawed and which are in more need of care. i hope that guide helps you all.

I found after failing acouple of time this method.

First spawn right after accepting find the worst injured ones, stand there and start healing one, while that one is being healed, click on the patient next to the one you are healing. once thoes two are healed, go stand in between another 2 sets of beds and pick the patient worse off, then move to the one next to it.

continue this, except remember the pattern you move in, thats the main key. patients will die if left there for too long, but if you remember what pattern of beds you went to, when they spawn they have a certain amount of time before death, so you just run the pattern over and over till completed...
it took me 4 tries to complete this mission solo. i tried the "pattern" and it worked right away easily with only 2 people dying on me. (most that spawned were badly and critically)

You DO NOT have to be level 45 for Triage quest. i just did it at level 42 with 225 first aid. You just have to be level 40 with 225 first aid to get the quest from the trainer in IF. This quest is really easy. When you target the NPC you want to heal,it will say Critically wounded Alliance soldier or injured Alliance soldier and so forth. Just do it in the order it tells you and it will be easy. also it really does help to have the Triage bandages hot keyed.

I see people stating that you have to go to Ironforge to even get the quest, but of course this is necessary at all. Just go to Theramore and find the doctor inside the Foothold Citadel.

There is no need to cure the critical injured first and move to the badly wounded and so on. Remember that you must cure 15 before 6 die. So you better make sur you heal 15 soldiers real fast ans all goes well.

While healing the first patient, look around you and locate the nearest patient with the worst injuries. Select him (while still applying bandage to your first patient) and when the bar is full, immediately hit your hotkey to apply the next bandage to the second patient. Keep doing this, and if you have to move a little because you cannot reach any patient at all, do so..

I succeeded the second time, because I screwed up with my hotkey and had to make sure the badage was on that hotkey. So remember to open the bag in which you will receive the bandage (you should be able to determine which bag in advance).

After 12 times in doing this, I finally did it! (even with a call from my Mum, leading her to be on hands-free)

I put the bandages on hotkey 2 (so that would be my smite as I'm a priest) and they are Triage bandages NOT wool, linen, silk or anything. They are bandages you get from the quest!

You have to be level 40, and a First Aid skill of 225!

If you are in a party, others heals count towards yours. With 2 people, each person take one side of the room and bandage away.

Would believe that if 2 people in a party can share, then a party of 3-5 people could do it also. Would like to test this theory out.

I tried to do by myself once, failed, then partied with a random person there and we were done. I had 11 bandages on me at the time, so you don't have to have the full set when partied or reset the quest as long as between the 2 people you have 15 bandages that work.

Make sure that once you accept the quest you start healing right away and heal everyone in site, they all die pretty quickly. That is why I failed the first time.

From what I have read in other forums, here are the skill levels to go back and train for the 3 next bandages (from the post I read I don't believe he charges for the training):

240 heavy mageweave
260 runecloth
290 heavy runecloth

horde quest is atcually alot easier. you dont even have to move to bandage and you can see all soldiers together.
they also are from different races based from the level of their injuries. this is not fair.

Minimum requirments for this quest are lvl 35 and 225 first aid, if u finish it u get the chance to go to 300(the cap) and als o get a nice bit of XP. If you do as above, and hotkey the bandages , it makes it alot easier, and overall less stressfull. I did it on my second try but i was shaking, its hard being rejected! :P anyway, good luck to anybody attempting this, and conngratulations on getting this far :D!

you learn heavy mageweave bandages from the same guy you got the trauma quest from in theremore. Your skill in first aid has to be 240. As for runecloth, i dont know, but you go back to the same guy.

i grinded a lvl at Tanaris, dunemaul guys drop a crap load of mageweave, when i was done i had 6 stacks, they range from 45-48

Just did this quest last night. I'm a lvl 35 warrior, so anything you read that says you must be level 40 is incorrect.

The quest took me about 3 tries before I found a technique that worked for me. The quest is that you must heal 15 men before 6 of them die.

Here's what I did:
When you speak to the trauma surgeon and accept the quest, he will give you a roll of "Triage Bandages" they are used for the quest and nothing else.

Make sure you put them in a space on your toolbar that's comfortable for you to use.

I choose a spot directly behind and about 2-3 steps away from the doctor, so as you face him, continue walking forward until your backs are facing each other and you character is facing the back row of bunks.

Keep in mind that bandaging will only be cancelled by actually taking steps in a direction, you can make your character rotate 360 degrees without interrupting the bandaging process.

Make sure you keep your toon swiveling around, and only moving if you are too far away from a patient.

Don't worry about "injured" soldiers as much as the critical and badly injured. The latter will die very quickly if you don't see them right away.

After a few tries, you should have it down and pass this quest.

You can do this quest quite easily without actually moving. Stand just behind the doctor and heal the ones in sight, leaving the few behind you. I've done this with about 6 characters so far and only had to repeat the first time before I stopped running around to do the healing. Putting the triage bandage the hotbar is essential, as is enabling the labels over characters (V key).

Just a warning ... PUT YOUR WEAPON BACK ON THE HOTBAR WHEN YOU'RE DONE ... I found from experience that attacking a lvl 36 spider with a triage bandage doesn't bring a happy ending !

Level 36 warrior, soloed this with no problem. Stand directly behind doctor as recommended and use V to see descriptions of patients. Keep an eye out for spawns of new critically injured or badly injured patients. Have new target selected before you finish channeling the one you're working on, and have the triage bandage on a hotkey, and should be easy.

Jeez guys, read! You dont have to be level 40 to do it *ANYMORE* You used to but Blizzard lowered req's on 2nd skills a few patches back.

This quest is also part luck. When 3 crits and a badly spawn at once, you arent going to win. When mostly injured spawn almost the whole time, you almost cant lose.

From what I can tell all three (First Aid, Fishing, and Cooking) are avalible at 35 and 225 in that skill, Cooking being the easiest, if you have the money, pretty difficult if you try getting the quest matterials yourself, first aid being cheap and easy if your skilled in targeting quickly and keyboard management, the fishing quest is by far the hardest which is near impossible to do before lvl 40-45 without help from a higher level guarder, thanks to the swamp of sorrows and ferales having lvl 40-45 mobs around the areas you want to fish.

First, make sure you have the levels (at this posting lvl 35 & xp 225)

1. Highlight the injured. (Somebody help: Alt+9? I remember the number 9.)

2. Put the triage bandages in a numbered hot slot.

3. USE THE KEYBOARD! Stand beside the doctor with one hand on the arrow keys and one hand on the slot number. SPIN! It's insane to try to run around to every victim, clicking on them to determine their condition.

4. Skip Criticals and bandage Badly & Wounded. Criticals waste time & bandages.

I read all of this on this very thread somewhere and did it first try!

ok my first bit of advice is to press the "v" key so you can always see which patients are the most injured. the "v" key shows you their names which contain their condition.

Also yes you do have to be 225 FA to do this but, there is no lvl 40 requirement. I did this on my lvl 19 twink very easily. Good luck to you and stop posting that u need to be lvl 40 :D

1) be level 35
2) have 225 skill in first aid
3) talk to Nissa in IF (she wouldnt have the ! over her head if you're lvl 60 anyway ;p) Get quest for extra 3s! yay!
4) Take boat from Wetlands to Theramore. Run straight, past 2 practice things, the building on your right side. Go inside building, turn right, turn left you'll see a room with beds.
5) Talk to Doctor to get quest.
6) Put Triage in hotkey, hit v so you see the names of all soldiers, stand in front of the doctor so you can spin around to see which ones are critical/badly injured/injured.
7) Ignore all critical (should only be 1-2), bandage badly injured first, then injured.

*Note: Bring 75 mageweave cloth and 70 runecloth with you!

8) After you finish quest, the doctor will train you automatically. Make mageweave bandages. Talk to doctor again at 240.
9) 241-260 make heavy mageweave bandages.
10) 261-290 make runecloth bandages.
11) 291-300 make heavy runecloth bandages.

When I did this quest just now, there was a bugged badly injured soldier on the bed third from the left. I kept on bandaging him to no avail since he's like one of those bugged mobs who keep on evading your hits. In the end I had to ignore him and bandage everyone else. You can tell they're bugged because they're stuck there, and they won't get off the bed at all.

the best and easiest thing to do is bring a friend , party up, and do the quest together!(yes you can do it with a friend and yes you both complete it) makes this quest a peice of cake as you both are healing for each other. dont beilieve me ? try it out once and prove me wrong.

The best way to go at this quest is heal them in the order the trainer tells you but try and remember how long everyone has been there. Keep an eye out for the chat bubbles from the ones that are about to die and heal em quick. Also if you fail the quest, clear your inventory of the triage bandages before trying again or the trainer will not give you more bandages.

Ahh wasnt that bad got it on the first try. just stand in middle of room with the v on to see names and scroll around room with vision, clicking on next worst case, and put bandages in hot keys.

I finished the quest but im still stuck at 225/225........ i dont even want to page a gm and get yet another email saying yeah we are working on it.... itll be at least a year before they get to me.

I tried this 20 times...you cannot do this if you have a touch screen and are a wee bit slow...did this on a morning and no one to try the duel stat. mentioned above...do this at your own risk!

This quest was easy. Failed first time, succeeded second time, solo. There's nothing to it. Just stand in the middle of the beds, and treat the critical patients first, then badly wounded, then light. No need to run from patient to patient. Just stay put and always treat critical patients first when they spawn. Easiest XP ever earned. BTW, don't click that lifehit link below. Has nothing to do with this game. It's spam.

There's a similiar bug with the Artisan Cooking Quest.

The workaround the cooks have come up with is to get a couple of skill ups immediately after finishing the quest.

Apparentally, the cap actually DOES go up to 300, then falls back to 225, so if you get skill ups right away, it can't very well drop your cap to say 227/225.

In order to obtain this quest, you must be at least lvl 35 and have First Aid at 225. She wouldn't give me the quest when I was lvl 36 with First Aid 210, but I received it right after I hit 225.

Hah, I am a dunce, can't believe it. I finished the quest, yada yada, used mageweave for ages. Thinking that Runecloth and Heavy Runecloth were both books or something. (Though, to my everlasting chagrin, never looking it up.) Got my FA all the way up to 294 using Heavy Mageweave only, if you can believe that.... boy I feel sheepish. Turns out at 260 you can learn Runecloth and 290 you can learn Heavy Rune. Bah I say, BAH!

Ok, plain and simple this quest is a cinch, just read the log and follow what it says. Basically no matter how you do it you will still be running around like crazy. Best thing to do is step back and observe after every successful heal. Treat minor to severe and never double tap, i.e. minor minor severe severe

Here is what I did, made a difference. 3rd time was the charm.

1. As soon as the quest starts, put bandages into an ACTIVE action slot. Active as in you press a number button and the action is done. I have 4 action bars onscreen, only 1 is the active, the other 3 have actions I use but can use mouse to activate.

2. Press V AND ALT Z which will turn off GUI - no dont panic. :) You now have a clear view of everyting.

3. Walk behind Quest giver. Target worst injured and use the action number - in my case it was 9 key.

4. Once you start bandaging you can turn - Using left mouse button - to check behind you for "Badly Injured"

5. If a "Critically" shows up 1/2 way or less healing current, do him next else skip him.

6. As you heal one keep looking for most injured appearing, and do them next.

6. You will get it. Even use first run to get all in order.

As a note - I did NOT clear bandages, questgiver gave me more each attempt. If this does not work for you destroy bandages, and try again. Post 1.10 patch.

From what i noticed doing this quest its all based on what you get, the last time i did it i got alot of crits and badly and a few injured. The most annoying and yet enjoyable quest i've done so far, keep em coming :)

there is a game glitch that has not been fuxed yet when you complete the quest make sure you train your skill to 226 at least other wise when you log off it will stick youi at 225 and never level and not let you do the quest its sucks so just a warning for those of you aboutto do this quest

Just to help some people out in case you have problems. I did this on the third try. If you happen to fail it make sure you get rid of any excess bandages. This was causing problems for me and was the reason I failed it the second time. Press "v" this makes a big difference in telling who is the worst injured. Take a couple of stacks of Mageweave cloth with you so once you complete it you can skill up. Once you go through those 2 stacks talk to the Doc again and he will teach you heavy mageweave. Train up on Heavy mageweave and the go talk to the Doc again and he will teach you Runecloth. Good Luck

This quest stinks. I tried it 5 times, healing the critically wounded, then the badly and so on, 5 stinking failures i say FORGET THIS! A guild mate said he did it about 10 times before he passed it, when i asked in general several ppl said they didn't know anyone that had passed it. So, GOOD STINKIN LUCK!

I'm lvl 40, with First aid at 224. Nissa tells me that the doctor can train me further, but did NOT give me a quest. When I get there he just says hello. What gives?

ok guys and gals..after you finally complete the Triage quest in Theramore, the same guy will give you a book to get you to 300 using mageweave bandages...2 mageweave = heavy mageweave bandage...Now he did not give me this book right away, I actually went back 2 days after i completed it and talked to him, he automatically gave me the book, i did not pay for it or anything..I clicked him and learned it...Good Luck and kill newbies

I did this quest and failed it multiple times at lvl 48. Then someone at lvl 40 showed up to do the same quest. He failed it on his first attempt, so we teamed up. We got it done together no sweat!

It can help greatly to have someone there spotting your next patient. I'd stand near the door, hit "v" so I get the name and health bar over the patient heads and tell the person where the critical/badly injured were so they could plan their moves. If you finish and have extras you can also help another by healing a soldier here and there so fewer die for the person trying the quest.

I started this quest right after hitting level 40. It took me about six or seven tries, some of them were my own fault, forgetting to get rid of the left over bandages and starting the quest with only 8 or 9. I didn't really do anything different from one time to the next. Just keep trying and you'll get it. Needless to say, I had many stacks of materials to make bandages, I was at 300 before leaving the zone. They should put 'Doctor' in front of you name when your hit 300.

to get this quest you must have a first aid skill of 225 and be level 35. You get this quest from Nissa Firestone 54,58 in The Great Forge of Ironforge (see her link above for a map of exact location).

Doctor Gustav VanHowzen is in the Citadel, enter, turn right, turn left, straight back, 67,48.

I have to say boo on Blizzard now, because finding out about this quest is rather difficult because... if you go to a trainer (including Nissa) before you reach 225 skill they will tell you to go straight to Doctor Gustof VanHowzen in the Barracks of Theramore to learn more, which is wrong because you of course must first get this quest from Nissa before Dr. VanHowzen will offer you this quest in which you must complete before he will train you further. And maybe I'm just being picky, but the Dr. is actually in the Citadel of Theramore, and "barracks" isn't even listed on Thesarus.com as a synonym for citadel (nor vice versa), but anyways...

on with "Triage" which is actually the next quest but since everyone else posted about that one, here it goes...

Ahh Triage, let me just say that this is the first quest I have ever thought to be bugged, it isn't, it's just really obnoxious. Basically this is how it works. Accept the quest, you will recieve 20 charges of a Triage Bandage in your Bag, I suggest putting them on a hotkey (have your bag open already to save time). Your patients will immediately start spawning on the top bunks of the beds in the room. If you stand in the middle, just behind the Doc you can be within range of all the beds (give or take). Then just as the quest says you must treat the Critally Injured, then the Badly, then the Injured. But they spawn randomly, and after you treat a patient a new patient will spawn in his bed. So scan the room for Criticals and Badlys and start bandaging and as you are bandaging keep scanning. And remember you must also treat patients who have been there the longest or they will die.

If you're having trouble just abandon and restart. Since the patients spawn randomly you might get a bunch of Injured first, which inevitable make you fail. Restart and maybe next time you'll get some criticals the first go around. By the way there is not a quest timer.

Is there any ability buffs I can do to speed up the healing time per bandage? I've usually only used 4 bandages with 16 left when it tells me I've failed. If 5 soliders have died in the time it took me to heal 4 soldiers, I must be healing too slowly.

I just finished this quest. I am only level 35. I had gone to Nissa earlier and she didn't give me the quest. Tonite (Nov 5, 2005) I happened to see her again, and she had the yellow exclamation mark, and gave me the quest. I went to Theramore and Gustav gave me the quest too. It took me a lot of tries to make it through. (I am more of a contemplative mage than a hopping around healer). Anyway, maybe they have change the level restrictions... I'm level 35 and have the 300 max for first aid.

Ok, you can learn Heavy Mageweave Bandage the same day you get Artisan First Aid, just take a pile of Mageweave with you, and level to I think 240, mine was at 245 so at least that much, but I believe it's 240, then talk to the Doctor again, he has a new dialogue and trains you for free.
Note: If you talk to the doctor right after completing the quest, you would still be at 225 and he has nothing to say to you, just congratulates you and tells you you have nothing to learn from him, just level to 240 then talk to him again, and you are gravy.

Its a lvl 45 quest so i believe you need to be atleast lvl 35 to start it yourself. But i can be wrong

Got a tip from Bombi the Mage on Malygos - (give credit where credit is due ).
1. Use "v" to make the descriptions easier to read
2. once you start bandaging you can turn - not walk - to check behind you for "Badly Injured"
3. skip "Critically" - do Badly right away
4. do others in order around room
5. put bandages on task line - seems faster than clicking - can use one hand on mouse - other to start bandage
6. Good luck - keep trying - you'll get it

If you fail the quest, destroy the bandages in your inventory that you received for the first round. Gustav will replenish your supply after you accept the quest again.

i have FA lvl 225 but im lvl 23. wat lvl do i needa be to get this quest. some ppl say its different things. neone know for sure?

Went to visit the good doctor, and three other players were attempting to complete the quest at the same time. Consequently, they were all competing with each other, healing someone else's patient, so they all failed...over and over. Finally, they figured out that they would have to try one at a time, and they eventually completed the quest.

However, I couldn't get started until they all left. Two players remained while they made 8 bazillion bandages so they could level up their medical training, and I had to wait for them to get done with that as well.

Bottom line: If you visit the doctor and someone else is attempting the quest...wait until they are done.

Was able to finally complete the quest following the excellent instructions already posted.

I can't get the quest from the trauma doctor in theramore at lvl 47 and 225 first aid

if you failed the first time and still have bandages in your pack. Then let the next person that is trying to get quest do their quest and they will fail also. Then talk to them and work as a team. 2 healers working on the same quest will get this done very easy. You just have to hope the other person is willing to help you and you are going to help them. Believe me I failed 4 times and there was another guy there and we were taking turns at failing. So we figured we would try healing with the extra banadages for the oter person and it worked. Hope this helps.

as one person has already said the easiest way to do this is press V and as the patients arrive it actually names them as injured, critical etc so you can easily tend the worst ones first. Press v and its easy.

due to lag, I simply cannot finish this quest. It takes way too long for the triage bar to even come up, no matter how quick my reflexes. Be warned, and do this quest when your internet connection is reliable.

I finished after 3 tries; the key is to keep track of which regular wounded patients have been there the longest. It's easy to cure critical patients, but in order to succeed you need to know which regular patients are closest to dying, so you can spare some time for them as well.

Here's how to knock out this quest easily:

1. Put the triage bandages the doctor gives you in your toolbar so you can hotkey them
2. Hit the "V" key so that the titles and health lines of each soldier appear above their bodies (the health lines are going to stay full - so don't pay attention to them)
3. Stand in the middle of the room (pivoting) and keep looking around to heal the critically injured first, then the badly injured, then the injured
4. Do not attempt this quest if someone is already working on it at the same time

I hated this quest The first two times i did it i was runniong from bed to bed and it just didnt work and then i had a friend tell me a place to stand and that was wrong too sooooo heres what ive found....as soon as you get the quest put the bandages on a number (i used 9) it makes things much easier. Then stand right behind the surgeon and you should have full range of the room so you can stay in 1 spot and just left click searching for the worst patient while your healing one and youll be in continious heal mode the whole time and itll be done way easy.

If someone else just did the quest wait until all of the beds are empty prior to starting the quest yourself. I failed today because there were a bunch of soldiers from the last person that died as soon as I started and I quickly failed the quest. Not realizing my mistake I accepted the quest again immediately on it expiring and failed a second time as all of my soldiers from my first attempt either died on me or despawned while I was healing them. 20 years later and I'm still learning things :)
