Well, as I've seen on the rest of the posts about this quest, it's kind of useless at this time to waste to much time with it. Yet, I got kinda luck getting a nice rare drop worth about 20g so I guess it wastn't to much of a waste after all. Wish it was something useful to me and not a lousy lv.17 driud drop...Starsight tunic.

When I jumped happily down the narrow road from Ravenholdt to the keep where I was told I was going to find the emblems, I found out that another rogue had pocketpicked all the mobs in that area already. "What a waste of time", I thought and started killing them so they could respawn. What if those who did this quest would actually kill those they picked, so that when the next ones come, they won't need to do the same thing as I did. I was LvL 29, so it was no problem doing this, but I guess there are others from LvL 24-> who'd appreciate that.

28 emblems later, I'm friendly. I stole 34, but he didn't want the last 6. So I threw them out.

Sucks hardcore. Though spending 2 hours in Durnholde netted me around 3/4 of a level, 30 levels of lock picking, a ton of money, healing potions and gems, and the satisfaction of killing stupid dirty humans.

as far as i can tell, iv'e noticed these things about the quest. please follow to make this quest easier for you, and others after you. help your rogue brethern out!

first, you get the quest... it seems odd, like you should be able to continue, but you can't. that's because you have not yet taken any emblems. so, what do you do?

head south, down to the ruins of durnholde keep. the syndicate here are easier than the one's of the foothills... and we rogues like easy, yes?

there you must pick pocket the syndicate to get the emblems. they always ask to bind to you, make sure you say yes. then, this is the most important, kill who you stole from. for some reason blizzard didn't make it so that their pickpocketable items reset, unless they die. if you pickpocket and get nothing, kill them, so they respawn with something. this makes the quest longer... but actually easier for you. you need exactly 27 emblems to do the quest (from my and fellow rogue's reports) but you might as well pick up 30 to be safe.

now, after pickpocketing and killing the syndicates, head back to the manor. yes, you have to hand them in one at a time, so find anyone at or around ravenholt manor with an exclamation point over their head, and hand them in.

oddly, they all start talking about how you should visit the "wolf." he's in the manor, in a tux, on the main floor near a table. and yet he oddly has no quest to give. if anyone knows what to do from here, let me know. i assume it's based on character level or skill in rogue dealings (like lockpicking)level. all and any speculations are fair game at this point.

So far I've handed in about 10 of them before I came here to find out how many I needed to get. I've noticed it doesn't give you XP points for each one. Do you get some when you hand in all 30 or is it only for faction?

Best place to farm these I've found is the camp on Corrahn's Dagger in the Alterac Mountains. Each mob has one, as opposed to the ones at durnhold keep where it's hit or miss. You can pickpocket about 9 of them at a time, kill the camp, then wait for respawn.

I picked up the pre at lvl 24 in IronForge.
Grabbed 30 Emblems and handed 27 over to reach friendly.
Im guessing I got 300 rep for completing "The Manor, Ravenholdt".

just did this and got 30 emblems, it took 29 to get to friendly.

after I hit friendly I could still turn in the extra one, so i think if you have them in your inventory you can keep turning them in for rep.

I think this quest is bugged. When you talk to a guard, you see the quest, but you cant press "Continue" to accept the quest

Go pickpocket a seal from a Syndicate Rogue. Then you can accept and finish the quest.

i hate blizzard for this...i mean, we rogues have a crap quest like that, that doesnt even give us anny reward, and form lvl 40 up or so, we dont get any other class-quests...is this quest suppused to make up for that lack? it's gotten a bit boring without class-specified quests, they are the ones where you ahve to think a bit...oh well, lets hope it'll get better with the next patch...the best thing would be a an epic-quest, but i'm not really hoping for much there...

If you go out to Durnholde to pickpocket emblems, you can also work up your lockpicking skill by opening the junk boxes they drop. Inside of them is generally just money and other junk, but a couple of times I've stumbled upon a rare item that sold in the AH for 1g+, and I've also gathered a stack of healing potions from unlocking these so-called 'junk' boxes. So, questline may not be finished... But it's still a worthwhile place to hang out.

I've notcied on my rouge that this quest can only be done up to firendly reputation. After that, the guards won't take any emblems. Whats up with that X_X.

hmm...can't seem to get this quest to fully load. I talk to the guards but it does not allow me to accept the quest. Anyone have any clue as to why?

Without going on for too long... the posts included in the attached threads are accurate. I was at lvl 30 and had absolutely no problem breezing through the collection of the emblems.

Best advice - grab the lockboxes to work on your lockpicking skills. The main point of this post was to report that as of this date ( Feb 6 ), it would appear that the end result of turning in the emblems was a referral to wolf. I've been told that this is a lvl 55 requirement to begin the quest, so I'll be making a note and then following up when I reach that point.

I had totaly nothing else to do so I pickpockted about 95 of those emblem (not kidding here '¬¬) 'cause I didn't know how many I needed... should have read this thread first.

Anyway, now that I'm friendly with those guys, what I'm I suposed to do? XD

You can take more than one emblem at a time you just have to unstack them. Take as many emblems as you have empty slots in yout bags then just unstack them all before you talk to the guards. Wash, rinse, repeat and save yourself a few trips.

not bugged you collect the emblems about 30 and you will gain friendly status then you can talk to the master rogue trainer upstairs in the manor

okay, so whats the final verdict... is this quest even worth doing? Why should i go through all this pickpocketing just to gain their respects... what do they do for me?

Thus far that I've seen the syndicate rogues and such only drop their emblems, pocketwatches, empty wallets, and the occasional junk box (whatever it's called). Overall the only benefit you get from doing the Ravenholdt Manor quests are access to a Shady Dealer, access to a trainer that lists all abilities that are learnable (not that he's any better than other trainers), and if anything you lose the 10% discount you'd get for going to a rogue trainer of a faction you are honored with.

Perhaps if they eventually do give Winstone Wolf a quest for the rogue community it'll offer something useful (say a quest to get some better thief's tools or perhaps an improved version of a currently available ability (i.e. the ability to steal from players of the opposite faction) who knows that's all up to Blizzard which at this time seems to be sleeping on the issue.

Your meant to hand in several emblems, after your friendly status with them your MEANT to talk to a guy in the manor who gives you more quests BUT blizzard hasnt finished the rogue quests yet cause i dunno why.

Someone else said they talked to a GM, and they told him that the quest is not complete yet (blizz is still making it).

So I pickpocketed one of those emblems, then I gave it to a guard. Problem is I didnt receive any new quest or information, he just said something about keeping it up. So my guess is that I have to pickpocket a crap load of those emblems before I can start getting real quest from those guys.

Prior to the last patch, the guys with the blue question marks over their heads wouldn't accept my emblems. I just went by last night and they did. (one at a time, btw) I think it took about 25 or so before the faction of Ravenholdt went to "Friendly" from neutral.

However, the next guy you click after they turn green directs you to the guy in the keep, and he isn't giving out any quests (although he does train you if you need it).

It looks to me like the Bliz folk probably have something more planned, but it just isn't there yet.

My recommendation is this: If you're going to the Durnholde keep to raise your lockpicking skill, why not pick this up while you're at it? pick a bunch of pockets as you go form chest to chest, and when you hit your lockpick ceiling (whatever your level is) just take the emblems and turn em in. You never know when they'll add a quest or two there, and do you REALLY want to be in the crush of folk all pick-pocketing Durnholde at the same time when they do?

Took 29 of the 52 I pocketed w/ my 24/25 Elf to reach 'friendly'. Wasn't real hard w/ 5 in MoD & 5 in Camo. Only problem is inside buildings, if one detected me, it was a 50/50 chance I could take all 3. Outside, rarely a problem. Killed that captured Orc for fun.

Hardly any XP, not even up to 1g.

After that, they took only 1 more & it said 'Syndicate Emblems completed'.

OK question..why the hell does this say level 60 on it when you can do it at like 20? Second...whoever said you have to unstack the emblems to turn them in is a dork...you don't gotta unstack em, you just keep doin the quest over and over again until you run out...duh...who would take a zillion slots and years to unstack something that unstacks by itself...it's not like they take ALL your emblems or something...geez.

And yes getting to friendly is worth it because the game is forever changing and who wants to have to do a zillion quests just to get that new talent/gift/thingamabob that might come out when blizzard gets a bug up their butt and decides to give something worthwhile?

Btw I'm a 52 rogue, had no problems when I went there, nothing was bugged, I got bored decided to just run around and pickpocket, got my 30 emblems no problem and then some. Took all of about half an hour for me being much higher than those syndicates.

Anyhow, everything worked fine for me and I'm sure eventually someday we'll get something cool for all our trouble.

Talk to a guard. He tells you he needs the Emblems. Go south of the manor to Durnhold Keep and pickpocket about 30 emblems. Return to a guard and give the emblems to them one at a time. Takes about 25-30 to gain friendly status. Then you are supposed to talk to Fahrad but he dosent have a quest for me. So its not finished or we are missing something..

After becoming friendly with Ravenholdt, some of the guards at the manor are telling me, "You should talk to Winstone. I hear he's looking for thieves with your skill." But he won't talk to me. Is this a bug?

You need 27 Emblems if you are a _HUMAN_ Rogue (Thanks to the 10% Reputation Gain racial bonus), 30 if you are a Night Elf, Dwarf or even a gnome *beh*

It's worth doing if nothing for the experience of stealthing and PP. Also the aforementioned gnome sells a Schematic in the basement of Ravenholdt manor.

Ok, just to give you a helpful note:

You get 100 rep with Ravenhold for each emblem, when you return them to a Ravenhold guard. Humans 110 ofc. So gather as much as needed to get friendly rep with them, as after that you can not give them more emblems.

The mobs to gather the emblems from are lvl 20-22, so on a lvl of 29, as I did this, the quest is very very easy.

And again, you should not kill these guys, but pick their pockets. For killing you wont get any emblems.

There are some lockboxes which are lvl 110+, so you can train your skill opening them if you are around that level.

As of today (Thursday, Sept. 12, 2019)...

There is some misconception as to the amount of Emblems needed. As of Patch 2.+, you only needed 10 or 11 to hit Friendly. But in Classic, that's not true.

The Emblems only give 100 rep per turn in. As does the previous quest. So if you turn in the quest leading here (The Manor, Ravenholdt), you will start with 100/3000 Rep towards Friendly.

So you must grab 29 of the Emblems in order to reach Friendly status.

Done on an Undead Rogue, so no Reputation bonuses applicable. Humans, YMMV.

As of patch 1.13 you get 100 rep per Emblem. So you'll need aprox 29 to reach friendly.
(Posted as a clarification for the 2.0 comments that say you'll rewarded for 250 rep).

For anyone doing this in tbc classic, the rep gained is 250 (275 on my human rogue) and the amount of emblems needed is about half. I wasn't counting but only used about 10/11.
The point of the Ravenholdt hand-ins is simply to get exalted as far as I remember. Just because you can :)

I did this is SoD and got to friendly. Saw the other comments that 29 gets you to friendly and this stops. But I happen to collect 30 and still got 100 rep for the turnin and sitting at 100/6000. I'm only doing this because I'm thinking a rune might be related to this at some point. Looks like you can grind these to honored in SoD. Gonna go pickpocket more and see.

Edit: Well, @#$% me. Must have been a bug with autoturn in. I farmed 60 more of these and came back and realized the turn in is gone now. Must have been a bug with turning in the last one very quickly. This got me to 100/6000

We have been entrenched in a battle with the Syndicate for years. What they lack in skill they make up for in numbers. It's impossible to kill them off fast enough to have any noticeable impact on their population!

We've found that the best way to deal with their size is to pilfer their emblems. Once an emblem is stolen the shamed member is 'dealt' with internally.

Pick their pockets clean and turn the emblems in to me or one of the other guards.

Start at Durnholde, south of here.
