Very straight forward quest. Just DO NOT forget to loot the bosses within Molten Core. They will have your quest items ready (the hands). >:D

I've got Hydraxian Waterlords faction from:
- Every kill of the Emberseer. If your guild is farming the general for BPs and/or blood for the Onyxia key, you'll whack this guy every trip into UBRS.
- The stuff in MC; again you'll probably be in here a fair bit.
- The lootless elementals in Silithus, which should be loot-enabled in the next big patch (as of early March 2005).

I think you also get faction for killing the poisoned water elementals in EP, after you zap them with the Aspect of Neptulos. I hung on to mine after the quest turn-in; I haven't checked whether or not this still works, though.

Never grinded anything in Sith~ but ive killed Emberseer a couple of times.

However ive been to molten core 3 lockouts now.
First lockout we got to Gehennas
Second we got to Baron Geddon
third we got to Golemagg/Sulfuron

I just passed honoured with these suckers and will go get the quest tomorrow.

So yea it takes time to get to honored and its not worth trying unless you are in a real serious guild

You need to complete this quest in order to summon Ragnaros, or something like that. Thus I wouldn't call it worthless.

In order to Spawn Major Domo, at least 8 members of your guild (or whoever you are running it with) must have completed this ENTIRE quest line. You are not doing this quest for XP. You are doing it to spawn MAJOR DOMO. Stop complaining and go play the game.

This is not a direct factor in the Priest epic quest. You do all these quests in order to get the aqual quintessence which he gives you at the end of all the quests. You take this and douse runes in Molten Core. Once all the runes are doused, majordomo does a /y in Molten Core. I am almost POSITIVE that this spawns domo and NOT ragnaros. From domo's chest comes an epic quest item, either the leaf, or the eye of divinity. You inadvertantly need to do these quests in order to SPAWN domo to beat him and loot the eye. If other people in your raid group have done it, you can still get benediction (or the eye rather) without having done those quests.

Ragnaros is then spawned by talking to the defeated domo.

Okay? So its not about "XP" or "Crappy Rewards" its about COMPLETING molten core. You cannot progress in Molten Core, unless others in your guild have done these quests.

ALSO, guy who said they'd be at rag in a month. You'll be at magmadar in a month, since by then you'll have enough tranq shots to take down magmadar. Until then, you won't get mag down to 90%. With two tranqshots ... maybe .... 80%. Hope to god that they never miss.

The amount of misinformation on this thread is stunning.

As has been mentioned, there are decent rewards and this quest is required to spawn majordomo in molten core, by applying it to the runes along the way. The water is unique, so you either need 7 people that have done the quest, or you can have those people go get more water and portal them back to MC until all the runes are out.

Chances are, if you can clear to golemagg, you have enough folks with the quest already. If you cannot, don't bother putting out the runes except maybe the one by Magmadar.

The ring with fire resistance is quite good, btw.

Well, if the first tranq shot drop on tuesday and the next on wednesday (after reset) yes you can get two tranq shots in 2 days. So before calling anyone a liar THINK!

What am i missing? i completed "hands" and that was it...he gave my a vial of water.

My guild does a full (farming) MC run on Friday nights (4-5 hours). We take down Rag weekly...

I thought there was supposed to be a ring or something at the end of this line...

I am a priest...once turning in the Hands Q i recieved 9500xp or something like that and the vial of water...nothing more...

did i miss something?

My guild started running MC 2 weeks ago, and on our first run we cleared up to Garr. MC really has nothing to do with "epic" gear, it all depends on your players and their skill at their class. In 2 weeks time, 4 runs in MC, we have killed Luci/Mag/Ghen/Garr/Baron/and got Shazz to 25%.
Dont get me wrong, the epic drops are definately helping but its more skill than gear that gets you though MC.

To the guy who said you will be lucky to get to mag in a month.

Is your raid group made up of level 60's?

I am in a new raid community with limited knowledge of MC (Our raid leader has done it all but not many others have) We killed lucifron on 2nd day then tried mag with one tranq shot. He killed us. Next week. Killed lucifron straight away then mag after a couple of goes(using two tranq shots). We killed all other bosses up to golemag on our first attempt (except gar because the assignments got screwed up) We are now stuck because only two have completed the hydraxian waterlords quest chain because we didnt expect to get there so quick. Up to this point MC isnt too bad. It is after this that fire rez is needed and a lot of it. I am still only a little way into getting it and have 90 unbuffed (will get another +5 on my shoulders when I collect 10 tokens for argent dawn) and the ring from this quest will bump me up to 110 unbuffed. (I am a druid so it is not as important for me)

Will unlimted hands drop when killing a boss or only 1 or 2 per kill? Meaning if other people in my raid have this quest , can we all loot for the hands?

This is apparently a "known" issue. If you are a night elf priest, you will not get the quest "A Hero's Reward" upon completion of the Hydraxian quest chain and therefore will be unable to obtain a Tidal Loop. If you have completed the chain, you should file a GM ticket and ask to be sent this item.

I put "known" in quotes because despite what must be many reports of this issue, it currently remains unfixed.

You dont have to kill majordomo, you just need to kill his 8 adds. After you have done that he will surender and spawn a chest.

7/28/06 I was able to turn in this quest and get the next reward out of the chest in the water. No problems. Bug Fixed for NE Priests.

This will take 2 whole runs of MC to do since you have to kill trash for the first part, get follow up then kill bosses. Overall if your in a good raiding guild this shouldn't be a problem to do, if not i wouldn't hope on going along with this Q line for now.

being that i was in a guild that was well into BWL when it disbanded, i would say that this quest wasn't that hard to complete. but that's my opinion. anyway, once you actually get the hands.. the rest is easy. a short run through Azshara and there is your reward. once you get to that point, you get "infinate Eternal quinessences". effectively, you get as many as you want for as long as you want. however, like previously stated.. it's unique. so you can only carry one. so, i would suggest that if you have completed it, then share the information with some of your guildies so that way your team as a whole can begin preparing for Domo. and who knows, maybe you'll beat him on the first try... lol.

Yes, We have. We had a full raid for 60's doing this, the proper amount of tanks, healers and AoE's. I was the only hunter :(, anyways, As i posted in Ragnaros profile comments, We got him. I got the last eviscerate off before I died, he died as well. I was the last one left, i had like 10hp as he turned around from killing my pally friend, I JUST got it off. I have one screenshot, can someone tell me how to post it so I can prove it?

We also could not get his drops -_-. By the time he died, everything had spawned again, we got halfway back to his body and were like, gah forget it. Took so #$%^in long, we were just happy that we got him...

I asked conquest as they've made the furthest progress into MC. The reward is simply an item which allows further raid progression into MC (allows another boss to spawn)

As rumor has it,

for completing this quest you get another quest to go kill Ragnaros. Duke hydraxis gives you an item or something and you need like 10 ppl with said item to spawn ragnaros.

Kinda makes you wonder what kind of reward you get for doing this.

Don't need faction to get epic drops, but you do need faction to summon Ragnaros, and therefore in an indirect way faction is a req. for some of the epic/legendary drops.

Still not sure whether you need reputation with Hydraxis in order to get purple drops in MC (don't believe it myself). I'm sure these quest rewards are nice considering the length and difficulty. Peace

Ok, we needed to find out how this worked since we wanna spawn major domo in a week so I got the details.

At 8 different bosses in mc there are runes.
If you have completed this quest you can pick up a special kind of water in azshara from the waterlords, each person can just carry one at a time.

In order to spawn major domo you need to douse/use one of the waters on each rune.

This means that if u have 8ppl who has completed the quest (and didn't forget to pick up the water ;p) you can take care of the runes without much hassle. If you have less than that people will have to douse, go back to aszhara, pick up more water, get back into mc and repeat until all 8 runes have been doused. Basicly it saves u some/alot of waiting time if u bring 8ppl with water.

This ring reward is really good... PEople say you can get better fr rings from mc, but thats a load of garbage, my guild downs rag, and in like the 14 or so full clears ive done, I havent seen ONE SINGLE RING with over 15 fr drop. Yes, I have seen rings with +7 to a bunch of diff resists, ones with spell power and healing etc, but better than 15 fr rings from mc easily? The people who say that have obviously never even done it. You dont even need dkp for this ring...
