Supposedly in BC, you can get rid of your white mining pick and this will be a useable item for mining (without having to equip it).

OK, but what about the letter itself?

The letter mentioned that he found a way into Ahn'Qiraj. When you give the letter to Rutgar Glyphshaper, he mentions you finding that tunnel. So... Anyone found such a tunnel yet? Perhaps this is going to be part of the May 2006 expansion?

FYI, the pick DE's into 3x Greater Eternal Essence which, on my server, sell for a good deal more than the pick vendor's for.

The letter to start this is a random drop. I think I got mine from the ambushers at the top of the tower in southwind village.

Every person in the group can loot it when it drops.

As of 1.9 don't sell this baby, it is possible you can give it to him back in the new instances.
