By the way ya hand it in in Steamwheedle Port.

Yeh this quest is a fun one, the Swashbucklers can get anoying with their disarm, but I thought it was funny when I disarmed them and than they disarmed me and we were having a fist fight :). The best place for the Swashbucklers is on the boat as you can get many of them on their own, as a rogue just sneak past everyone else onto the ships. Ya get two at once a few times just throw a sap in there and you should be grand.

The Freebooters and Pirates I got mostly outside the main camp on the beach.

The Dockworkers come in two, there up on scaffolding in the main town usually two at a time, I just snuck up behind them sapped one, killed the other and killed that one, just be carefull you dont agro other mobs in the area, if your a rogue use crippling poison on all these as they are runners and that stops that, also do this quest at the same time as the pirate hat quest that ya get from Steemwheedle, otherwise you'll spend your bloody life in that cove.

These guys are kinda hard for me, I'm a spirit priest and they can hit kinda hard, and they like to pull adds. So, I found myself popping out of Shadowform to heal myself. I think this would be a very good quest if you had a friend with you.

When you do this make sure to read the wanted sign in Gadget and get the pirate hat quest. All three are in this area.

Did this solo as a 45 hunter. No disarm issues here. There are pros and cons to every character. This is a good quest for a hunter. I just let my pet tank and never had to worry about disarm. BTW, this WAS a fun quest... (just have to worry about alliance). :) Peace

Completed with my 45 lvl mage, picked an epic off a pirate. mana shield is a great thing..

When i take this quest it immediately says "failed" in my quest log. I know this quest is not timed so I'm confused why it says this. I abandoned the quest and tried taking a 2nd time but said "failed" again.

anyone know what I can do to take the quest?

you can get into the cove through the cave at 68,41.

watch the aggro, though. theyre not spaced out.

Solo'd. 44 ret palli.didn't get disarm dat much but i didnt hav a tantrum on Thott wen i did, they disarmm, it's part of the game. maybe blizz is saiiting back there saying "oh damn pallies healing and using Divine sheild" or " damn Hunters/locks using pets"... I think not.

co-ords 74,45 or there abouts

bout half-way down da map on the most EASTERN point of the coast...u cant miss it...on the open cape part of da coast east of Cavern of time for those who dont hav co-ords

Did it as a 45 ret pally. Great xp since it's a grinding quest, but watch out for chain aggro, i once had 5 guys on me at once...
I wouldn't advise running into the houses because you will aggro at least 3 mobs, i only just managed to kill all 3 with bubble + health pot. Make sure you have "WANTED: Andre Firebeard" and "Pirate Hats Ahoy!" for a very easy 8k xp.

This quest is probably one of the most anoying ones ive did as a melee class . The mobs are really tight together and spawn insanly fast .

Ended up fighting 4 at once at the docks with almost no health left when a mob spawned right next to me and started attacking instantly ... thanks alot .

Combine it with the hat quest and you can get some good xp in no time , just be prepared to pay the repair bill once or twice if your a melee class and walk a really long way from the graveyard to your corpse .

Very tight spawn radius, group recommended, got 3900 XP and Gadgetzan rep +275 at lvl 44.

I soloed this at lvl 42 with a shamman. The hats take a while but its pretty easy to get the 2 quests done. (takes a lot longer wile grouped to get the hats)

Combine this with the other new Quest (Pirate Hats) you will be done in no time. The mobs are grouped together making it nice and easy to get all 4 types in a short amount of time. Keep your eye out for the drop Pirate footlocker. It begins a quest at 40. All you have to do is when turning in the hats and shakedown is talk to one person in the port, then talk to another in the port. That's it done. Decent XP and just over a gold as well. On top of the XP for the other quest turn in's. Enjoy!

Southsea Shakedown is a rather lengthy quest, taking place in the Lost Rigger Cove (around 74, 46). To reach this cove, travel down the east coast of Tanaris where you will a find a small tunnel (68.5, 41.4) that leads to the cove.

To complete this quest, you must slay the following enemies;

Southsea Dock Worker
Southsea Freebooter (has access to a ranged auto-attack)
Southsea Pirate
Southsea Swashbuckler (has access to Disarm)

Most of these enemies lack any sort of ranged attack, though casters may want to be wary of the Southsea Freebooter, which has a relatively hard-hitting gun. Melee players, on the other hand, need only stay careful around the Southsea Swashbuckler, which can Disarm you.

Outside the small town within the cove, you can find Southsea Freebooter and Southsea Pirate scattered around the camps. Inside the town, you will still find the former two pirates, however the town will also be filled majorly with Southsea Dock Worker. To find Southsea Swashbuckler, travel towards the two ships docked at the end of the pier on the east end of the cove.

Alongside Southsea Shakedown, you may also wish to complete the following;

If grouping up to quickly clear the Cove's quests, you will want to bounce between three areas for AoE farming (ie. if you have a Mage)

Clear the outside area of the centre of the town, around the campfire. You will find the area composed almost entirely of Southsea Dock Worker, which pose zero threat to a ranged class, as well as Andre Firebeard for WANTED: Andre Firebeard.
Head to the ship under construction and run to the top. You will pull some Southsea Dock Worker on the way up, and more atop the ship. Additional pirates are inside the vessel, though are inconvenient to fight.
Run along the pier towards the twin ships to pull Southsea Swashbuckler, as well as Southsea Freebooter inside the vessels.

Factoring in mana recovery time, and assuming the presence of no other competing groups, you should be able to rotate between these three areas until you are done. If you need to use some spare time while waiting for a respawn, the houses around the first group contain a mix of all the pirates, as well as the northwesternmost two-storied building (72.6, 46.8) containing the packages for Stoley's Shipment on the second floor.

Otherwise, the Cove is plentiful with spread enemies, many of which you can pull one-at-a-time.

Argh! They want the impossible from me!

The Steamwheedle Cartel wants me to teach the Southsea pirates a lesson. The problem is that I can't be in two places at once; I need to stay here to keep the peace.

Of late, the pirates have been disregarding the protection money that the cartel regularly forks over. So I'd like to temporarily deputize you to go down there and show them what for.

You'll find them at Lost Rigger Cove, which is not too far to the south. Thanks <name>, I'll owe you one!
