This quest is bugged for me. No matter how many fireworks I launch I cannot complete it.

I know I am doing it correctly because i made a level 1 character and ran to Orgrimmar and completed without issue.

I put a petition into a GM. I'll report what he tells me in case anyone else is having this issue.

Buy 8 small rockets (any color) and 2 cluster rockets (any color) and shoot them (right click :P ) and thats it...

Then u can teleport to Moonglade...

Alliance HAVE to fire the firework in Ironforge (Mystic Ward) and Horde HAVE to fire the firework in Orgrimmar!

Indeed,
For the Alliance the quest only seems to work when you use the fireworks in Ironforge's Mysic Ward

In case of the Horde, go to the Ogrimmar's Valley of Wisdom

After completion you'll get the 'easy invite to moonglade', just step into the light and use it (For those first-timers in Moonglade, get the Flightpath*)

* Update for those confused: This flightpath goes directly from and to Auberdine! It's NOT the flightpath IN Nighthaven that goes to Rut Theran and is ONLY for Druids. The one NON druids want is in the south of Moonglade, follow the road South and east cross a little bridge. This of course is for Alliance.. I don't know where the Horde FP will lead :)

I fired about 50 fireworks of all types (all colors, small and big) in Orgrimmar, near the launchers in Valley of Wisdom. I'm not in a raid or group.
The quest is not progressing. I can't complete it.

there is also flightpaths for non-druids outside town in moonglade..

It only counts for the Horde if you set off the fireworks in the Valley of Wisdom in Ogrimmar.

Just in case, noone has noticed this. When you get to Moonglade using the invitation, you are standing in an area with many moonbeams. Depending on which moonbeam you use, you can travel to all the major cities if you wait for the 10 minute cooldown on the invitation. Technically, you don't have to use a flightpath unless you are just trying to get to somewhere else other than the major cities.

I got the quest in Org in the valley of wisdom and i just stood in the light and shot them off! and it worked for me!

This quest doesn't work in SW for some reason. Go figure, welcome to WoW. Anyways, just go to IF.

I tried it willy nilly on two charectors both times using wows quest tracker it resest if you fire a cluster befor firing 8 small, so fire 8 small then 2 clusters and if in doubt track your quest, did in TB both times

thanks for the earlier post, but you really mean south-east to get fp. straight south leads to a cave. just follow road SE and you'll see the fp after the 2nd bridge

The fireworks are sold nearby. They are not called LUNAR FIREWORKS, just Small (COLOR) Rocket.

It's not working for anyone I know. I tried as one person advised to do 8 small and then 2 clusterrs, in that order...no good, does not work.

It didn't work for me either I laucnhed a boatload and then figured it out. You cant be in a group and try this.

The only place I got credit for launching the fireworks was in IF.

it worked for me in darnassus, in the cenarion enclave, somewhere around there, you'll find the festive environment, and there would be 3 female night elves around a ray of light, you have to go in the ray of light and shoot the firworks there

its true. for horde you have the go to the valley of wisdom and launch rockets that you buy from the vendor. i tried both UC and TB which didnt work. i launched the 8 rockets first then the 2 clusters. im not sure if it has any effect doing it the opposite. thats just what i did.

I believe it's as Ravenia said...it wouldn't work for me until I bought a bottle of moonlight from the fireworks vendor, and drank it before using the fireworks.

I'm Alliance on Laughing Skull.
In the park in Stormwind, I got the quest, bought the rockets, fired them off, turned in the quest, got the invitation, stepped into the light, read the invite, and was swept away to Moonglade. Simple.

This quest yields 4950 experience points and it was very easy. Most people are saying it only works in Ironforge, but I've found that it also works in Stormwind in the Park. Moonglade is tough on PVP servers because it is contested. Just go in hoping the enemies there aren't interested in you. The HUGE pile of bones around the person you go to talk to is amusing though, as long as you don't become part of it.

Worked for me first time in IF, no problem whatsoever. But then when we formed a raid to take down Omen (which I might add was a pretty impressive raid...full raid 90% 60s) several people couldn't get the invitation from IF or DN, not sure about SW. I personally think that for the Invitation quest you cannot be in a raid group.

But then when we tried to summon Omen we were not successfull...shot off probably 1000 fireworks with no luck (this one was a raid quest). We had a good shot at defeating him...maybe he was just scared to come out. :)

I just did this in Dar. I stood in the circle of light with the three gals and it worked, just like the other poster said.

I tried the drinking way but no success.

You just have to launch your rockets in the platform behind fireworks vendor, where the light is.

The fireworks vendor has disappeared from Mystic Ward in IF as of this typing (2/19/06). I think that perhaps I waited too long to complete it. :(

i just did this in a mater of seconds in darnassus 2/22/07 not sure if it is still not working in SW or IF but it is working in Darnassus. the cenarion enclave is where you will find the vender and the place to launch the rockets

Ok I'm horde and i got the quest in UC it says there's launchers all over but I can't seem to find them. Where are the launchers located at for the horde in the eastern kingdoms and in kalimdor?

I've had the same problem but not only with this quest in the Defias Brotherhood quest the same thing append (When trying to kill Defias Pathstalkers) they didn't ad up in the Quest Log. After loggin out and back in it worked though

It's lame that you can launch fireworks in SW but not get quest credit. Where are the launchers in IF? Can I launch fireworks in IF that I got from SW for quest credit, or what?

You should find Vendors in any of the capital cities.

Yeah this one stumped me till I read this page I got this quest in Darnassus but ended up haveing to go to iornforge Spoke to elder there bought firework's from vender near him shot them off and even though the quesst in the log book seem's broken "it didnt account from the work's I lite off" I was able to complete it and go the the other area.

i think you have to have the questgiver targeted. thats when it started working for me.

I think,I found out what to do. I comp leated the quest, than told the method to a friend of mine. He succeeded too! So, the only thing u have to do is to stand IN the ray of light while launching the fireworks! That's all! And the reward is VERY good! 4950 exp!

K :) Launched a good number of fireworks, and clusters, but they don't add up in the quest... is it broken? or do i miss something...

EDIT: Tried it later on in Orgrimmar, and now it worked.

I think u first have to speak with an elder, I hade the same problem, but after talking with an elder it worked fine.

I went to SW, and now its telling me to do this b ut the vendor doesnt sell anything that works for me, I tried it all.

WTF anyway, are the regular fireworks just the rockets?

as far as i can tell, they fixed the bugs. i did it in SW- without a problem. a few days ago however, no such luck. anyways- its fixed

So i bought the fireworks in undercity after talking to the elder. Then to org and launched them ... it didnt state in quest log that they were launched. Did i miss something ?

In Undercity, you need to target while firing for the quest to work.

I tried this quest as a level 1 Gnome toon in Ironforge that I had just rolled up and gave 10 silver to from my main toon. I bought and fired off the required fireworks and then got the invitation to the Lunar Fest and teleported over to Moonglade via the Moonbeam and ran into the nearby NE town (Nightshade?) and talked with the Lunar Fest NPC on the docks there. Just for completing that quest (talking to him) you get over 4700 XP points. That alone will instantly level up a level 1 toon several levels! Talk about a quick way to get up to level 5.

Not sure if Blizzard intended this level 60 quest for level 1 characters but it works. If you want to skip the leveling in the n00b zones, just do this quest and you'll zoom up a few levels instantly and can start tradeskilling right away!

Even on a level 8 character, you can practically gain an entire level from finishing the subsequent quest in Moonglade. It's worth about a 1/2 a level at level 13 too.

i think there's a minimum level now, i tried this with a level 5 gnome rogue, and then again at 6 and it wouldn't work.. has anyone been able to do this quest in the past 2 or 3 days with a character under level 10?

My invitation is clicking as I try to collect more coins. What happens when your 24 hrs is up. Since the festival continues to Feb 14th, I'm assuming you can restart it, but has anyone done this a 2nd time successfully?

This is for those playing Classic Wow.

There seemed to be a LOT of confusion regarding this quest back during the original run of the game.

I am hoping that this post will help clear things up a bit and make it easier for Classic players to finish this quest and get their invitation to Moonglade.

For me, I picked up the quest in the Park area of Stormwind while very gold poor, (and at about level 33-ish give or take a level or two. I doubt level really matters much but "details")

However, I did not attempt to complete it for several days for reasons ( Ok, ok. I was too poor to afford the fireworks)

Later, while collecting Coins of Ancestory from the Elders, I decided to try completing this quest while I was in Darnassus. (I now had a little gold to my name and it was burning a hole in my armor's pockets)

The Lunar Festival Vendor npc is there at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the "moonbeam" (Elder Bladeswift stands in a separate "moonbeam" of his own to the left of those same stairs)

This is what I did to quickly and successfully complete the quest:

I bought 8 (eight) "Small Blue Rockets" from the Festival vendor. (approx 35'13)

They are NOT called "Lunar Fireworks" as the quest text seems to suggest
Note: ANY color Small Rocket should work!
I also bought 2 (two) "Red Rocket Cluster"

I went to the top of the stairs to stand in the Moonbeam (approx 32'12) as it's something so many on this page of confused posts seemed to agree on should be done.

Note: I am not at all sure you need to stand in the moonbeam, but for me at least, better safe that sorry.

I then simply "fired" (clicked on) the rockets while standing on the moonbeam and the quest completed without a problem.

Side note: I don't know / remember if the quest was bugged back then, or if we were just all a bunch of noobs, but regardless of what the old posts here say you:

Do NOT have to do this quest where you picked it up (ie if you pick it up in Stormwind as I did, feel free to complete it elsewhere (like Darnassus) if you wish.

You DO NOT have to take a drink of any sort before attempting to complete the quest.
