A wasteland born out of the many wars this land has faced. many undead walk the ground and this is a good place to get your Argent dawn reputation up if you are between level 50-60.
The only instance in the area is scholomance, which requires a skeleton key for you to enter.

Awesome place. I love the Plagueland zones! So much character, and many Undead mobs! Great place for a Paladin like me and if you have played Warcraft 3 and know how the Plaguelands came to be.

a VERY nice quick quest line that doesn't pop up on the map of quests for WPL.

You get 7050exp and 5.8g worth of money and items. Definitely worth doing and it's cool too. Read the quest as you do it.

Ok, I don't know if there's anything connected to this, but I know that an NPC at both the Bulwark and Chillwind Camp says something about a wizard up in Hearthglen who made cool weapons and junk before the Scarlet Crusade killed him. Is there actually any items or something connected to that?

Hearthglen is a great farming place if you have some outland gear and you're farming for your epic mount.
These guys are easy and i recommend coming here to farm (unless your in Azshara then i won't be happy to see you kill every mob i want).
To make these guys easy as rogues stay higher than 50 energy as soon as they get to about 75% hp cause thats when they start healing but with more than 50 energy you can kick and these guys don't heal as soon as the kick effect wears off ( I'm talking about the Paladins in Hearthglen).

This is one of my favorite zones, great for grinding.

You get rep. for each kill, till 5999/6000 honored of course.

Pretty much everything drops some kind of item you can use in a quest of some sort to gain more rep. some special items. Like sweet recipes or rare/epic equipment.

I've been looting runecloth from almost everything, which i happen to be a tailor. ^^
But even if you aren't a tailor there is still first-aid.
Aaaaaand if you have a grudge against band-aids, you can alwais sell the runecloth at the AH for a pretty penny.

The undead here dont drop much useless grey text items, like fur, just exquipment, which you can get about 50s-1g for each. They also drop some good pocket change.

One last thing: there is a nice lvl range, and once you get too high of a lvl, just switch over the the eastern plaguelands, it has the same advantages, just higher lvl creeps.

there is no town or flightpath here but the quests here are pretty nice. I would recommend doing All along the watch towers: https://www.wowhead.com/classic/quest=5098 in order to get Alas, Andorhal: https://www.wowhead.com/classic/quest=105 the reward is pretty nice for this quest.

Also while your questing be sure to save your bone fragments that you might find because you will beable to complete the quest Bone Fragments https://www.wowhead.com/classic/quest=9127 at eastern plaguelands also save your savage fronds to complete the quest Savage Frondshttps://www.wowhead.com/classic/quest=9137 also at eastern plaguelands, you will need 30 bone fragments and savage fronds to complete each quest
And if you do the scourgestone quests and recieve a Argen dawn Valor Token, keep it! You will beable to do They Call me "The Rooster" https://www.wowhead.com/classic/quest=9141 at eastern plaguelands as well

While you questing in WPL check abadoned buildings around. Some of them contain NPC's or objects that start various kind of quest wich can give you some XP and lore about this place or a nice gold reward. Nearly every house near fields with Scourge's cauldrons have a quest. Since patch 2.3 it is quite easy to track these quests.
Personally, I'm playing WoW for 2,5 years and only now find some new for me (and old for WoW) quests in WPL.

very good for grinding, very good chance of rare drop epic and rare, good place to grind is up in the scarlet castle north of the map (lots of epic drops) krol blade, lots of cards and good quests :) its a shame i did not grind there for all my accounts

This area has more lore than all of kalimdor put together it'd be good if when your exalted with Brood of Nozdormu you can visit the area 14 years ago when it's nice like Old Hillsbrad.

For the Horde:
Head to Undercity and leave through the north front entrance, not the sewers. Follow the path east and it will take your through the mountains and into the Wester Plaguelands. Be sure to get the quests before you go into the Plaguelands. They are fairly easy quests and can mostly be done alone.

if you want open scollamance door talk to one Blacksmith because he do keys for opened the door of schollamance, but u need blacksmither go to u for open the door because require skill of profession but is nice if u want....

For the frost mages, Sorrow Hill, (south of Andorhal) is a great place to frost grind. My only caveat is if you are horde on a pvp server, you are most likely to be surrounded by alliance characters, since it is close to their base.

I really perfer WPL compared to Un Goro, grinded Un Goro on my last toon and dont fell like doing it again but skipped WPL/EPL and am going to get all I can out of here, so far its a great place like the above said as a Retro Pally finding the undead mobs is easy.

At lvl 50 its perfect to go there and grind mobs. If ur under 50 its not worth it becouse the highest lvl close to bulwark is 52 and would be orange if ur under 50. I went there at lvl 50 and It's very good, drop much runecloth and silver, tho at lvl 50 u will have probs with the quest

I went here at lvl 50. Start off at Felstone Field. Go at lvl 50 because thats when the Argent Dawn give you the trinket to collect scourgestones. Good exp here... This place WILL teach you that you MUST grind.

im a lvl 50 rogue (51 now) started here at lvl 50. is very nice to grind MOST of the mobs are 50-52 in the area north east of griphon.. i grind on ghouls in the southern area. slitly north east of the griphon if u follow road ull find.. true with the drops i have found 2 blue items 2 of portals and a recipe.. rune cloth and silver fall pretty often.. plus GREAT repeat quests here.. colecting sotnes from ghouls nice for grinding and getting rep! only 1-2 quests u will be able to complete at lvl 50.. mostly lvl 54+ QUESTS (THAT I HAVE SEEN)

I started leveling their at lvl 48. The Bears give good leather but the Spiders piss me off cuz I am a Rogue and they poison you for 2mins. So its good for leatherworkers and bad for Rogues lol.

but u will want to be lvl 50 or so before u try to farm skins here or you will probably get wasted by extra aggroed adds but plenty of lvl 50-52 bears to skin all along the top half of this zone just don't go near andorhal or hearthglen unless you are about 53 or up id say hearthglen prolly wanna be 55 or up :P

I go here on my mage and AOE grind at felstone field. Always get jumped by a rogue stealthing me when im in a battle. Good place to farm runecloth also.

This simply isn't true.....well not all of it.

Grinding can also be for people who need to build reputation for a particular faction. In Western Plaguelands, this is typically done for Argent Dawn Rep. by camping Sorrow Hill. Don't assume grinding is only money and greens...

If u are a frost mage and looking for fast xp (over lvl 54). Go the Dalson's Tears, make sure u have a healer of another mage helping. Frost mage is the best because u have more stuff to protect urself with. Anyway, back to the point. Get a priest or someone who can heal ya, get on ur mount, go agro like 15 of them, get off ur mount, frost nova, blink away, and use blizzard on them (again frost is helpful because it slows them down and they get lots of damage). then while u are waiting for frost nova to regen, just use arcane explosion or cone of cold. then when Nova is back up, do it all again.

- i got a whole lvl in one day of grinding, and not bad loot either.

I just went there at level 50 when I got the paladin quest and this is a great spot to grind. THe place (I forget the name) east of the argent dawn people is a good spot because there's a 50 quest there, they drop scourgestones, they drop lots of runecloth and silver. If you're a 50 paladin looking to grind then go here and take advantage of excorsism and holy wrath!

Sorrow Hill... very good spot to grind. Will likely be very, very crowded. For Paladins this area is especially good, of course, as we have not had demons or undead to grind in some levels. These guys hit fast which mean you can use ret aura, seal and judgement of light and essentially never lose health.

I try to buff people and remove the crap the undead put on them here and there to let the goodwill go around. This was wise because it helps everyone work as a team to fend off the 60 gankers that will come by. You will get ganked here, but you can gank back. Few horde have come here to grind and left alive. They would all get some ganks and feel good, but they all ended up dying. Again and again and again.

Usually, some 60 alliance will grind here, but if people just team up on the horde, that generally gets them. This is especially humiliating for them and they tend to re-rez. This is bad for them as they have only two exits.

Regardless, this is why you should be appreciative of the kills.

There is some ill will from newbies to this region. I had one guy yell "bastard" at me when I hit a mob. He thought he had targetted the mob first, though I was right in front of the mob and he saw that. Obviously, I hit my button first as the mob aggro'd to me -- but the guy didn't get that it was him "kill stealing", not me. I was in a nice mood and apologized to the guy. He said that everyone had been kill stealing from him for two hours. This never even occured to me at the place.

I explained to him, and to everyone else now, the trinket causes a lot of aggro. So, even if you heal someone normally and don't take the mob, here, you will take the mob often. The dynamics are completely different. So, don't take it personally. Grind, appreciate the additional people for horde protection, and don't take it personally if someone takes your mobs. It was probably accidental.

On using ret aura and judgement of light -- this combo works very well because judgement of light will proc off ret aura strikes. Remember to keep your health up... because stealth gankers always go for guys low in health. They don't care about honor points or honor at all. And if you are lower level -- you will be the first target, regardless, so try and stay close to other alliance.

All that said, these mobs go down easy and the rep rewards are well worth it.

as the poster before me said, this place is an excellent place to grind. i've mostly quested and instanced (not really a word) until now, but i plan on spending a lot of time here killing scourge. they drop a lot quicker than the damn furbolgs do and are spaced nicely where you can fight them one at a time if you decide to.

This place is a paladin's delight for grinding... at lv52 I'm melting through a lot of the undead mobs here :) Got quite a few green drops, in addition to the runecloth, silver and scourgestones.

No this is not the place where Blood Elves start =P...well of coarse since ur post was 4 months ago u didn't know better but now with the Burning Crusade xpansion coming out in 3 weeks eveyone probably already knows that the cieties of Quel'Thalas, Silvermoon City, etc. are North of EPL. If you've played the WCIII Human Campaign then you'd know that this is where the battles with Arthas and the scourge occured. I was personally excited when I found out that Hearthglen is an actual place in the WoW MMORPG. You can read more at www.wowwiki.com they have great stuff there...BTW this place is good for grinding, and you cna start stacking up on Argent Dawn rep, which you'll need once u hit 60 and earn a fair amount of gold and runecloth to do w/e u want with.

P.S. Horde needs a FP in WPL! ='(

im a 51 frost mage i find that the skeletal flayers, and the slaved ghouls near chillwind camp (take the east road) are easily grindable, i can pull about 10 at a time and come out with average %25 hp and a little over nothing mana, very fun to pull and in about half an hour already got half my lvl

Ok...I don't really think age maters in WoW as long as you can take orders well in raids and know what your doing I mean you could be age 10+ and be a good wow gamer

Started grinding in Sorrow Hill at Level 49. A real nice area. A good resting spot is where the hag is at on the stump. You can keep your eye on everything around you but yet you're far enough to avoid aggroing. Had some nice drops here: Four and Two of Elementals today.

..The damndest thing.

I stumbled across this area last night while doing a quest down in Tarren Mill. I decided to kill some time and explore.

This place is completely empty.

Obviously there's a rational reason but it was still a little on the eerie side.

This place has quite a few occupants. They are all dead but they are there. You need a trinket/item to be able to speak with the dead here. There is a vendor here also that has a few excellent items for sale but you will need that item to speak to him as well. I believe its called the Spectral Essence.
