If you need to farm this the best spot for me so far has been Bladespire Hold in Blade's Edge Mountains (41, 54). The drop rate from the Ogres isn't too bad and they respawn rather quick. Just keep an eye open for the many patroling raptors.

If you are an Aldor, Legion Hold in Shadowmoon Valley is a great place to grind out this cloth. the demons here also drop Fel Armaments and Mark of Sargeras and a good amount of silver.

If you aren't in Blades Edge or Shadowmoon yet, or grinding for Kurenai/Mag'har rep. If you pair it up with quests, like 'Obsidian Warbeads', 'More Obsidian Warbeads' 'Northern Cleft of Nagrand' or 'Corki's Been Kidnapped Again!' you should feel the love - The Ogres in the Northern Cleft (Cleft North of Halaa) Drop this and have a quick respawn rate, got 2 stacks in less than a half hour.

Manaforge B'narr in netherstorm is one of the best places to farm this, especially if your looking to grind scryer rep items, As a fire mage I farmed about 7 stacks of netherweave and 60 sunfury signets in one hour, also a couple random greens and arcane tomes.

Like the guy above me said, don't expect to get that much in an hour if your something like a prot warrior, usually mages and other burst damage casters have an advantage in farming becasuse we kill at a much faster rate

The drop rate of this cloth has also been significantly buffed in the 2.1 patch, you should notice that the mobs usually drop 2-3 per MUCH MORE often than before

Edit: thanks anarchitect, while blizzard fixed the heavy bandage vendor price, they changed it to fit the same profit that the normal bandages vendored for.

20 netherweave cloth vendors for 1.6g
10 heavy netherweave bandages vendor for 3g (edit: not regular bandages)

If you ever want to sell stacks of netherweave, either sell them for more than 3g or make the heavy bandages to vendor them.

A great place for this stuff is the Crystal Flayers in Singing Ridge to the south of Death's Door in Blade's Edge Mountains. They're far enough apart for some fairly casual grinding and drop at least as much Netherweave Cloth as the Sunfury Magisters. (According to Wowhead figures it's more than twice as much :) Remarkably the Flayers have pockets for rogues to pick as well.

I find it very good and easy to kill the Blood Elves that are fighting eachother outside the black temple. Up to the right as you are going up the path, they get to about half HP, attack them both and kill very easily, even with level 70 mobs, good drop rates on signets tomes and cloth = ) Hope this helps.

BTW: 68,50 ish with co ords for these mobs.

I like to grind Netherweave Cloth at The Heap in Netherstorm, just south of Area 52.

The ethereals there also drop zaxxis insignias for consortium rep. They're squishy and die fast and drop lots of cloth. If you've done certain quests you can also get consortium keys, which you can sell for a fortune.

I have been farming in Shadowmoon Valley, killing the Eclipsions and they have great netherweave drop rate along with sunfury signets, didnt get 1 arcane tomes but 3 rare drops(blue)

Is it just me or have they nerfed the droprate on this stuff in HFP since 2.1? I'm doing tailoring on my new toon, and when I leveled my mage through here I remember getting at least 200+ cloth before I left...now I've gotten maybe half that.

Voidspawns around Oshu'gun in Nagrand are great to farm on. They drop Oshu'gun crystal powder, Motes of Shadow, LOTS of greens, the occassional blue from a rare spawn around there, and 2-4 Netherweave Cloth.

This is where I farm since I'm a shadowcloth tailor and I need the Primal Shadow anyways. Average loot every hour is about 24 Crystal Power, 62 Netherweave Cloth, 37 Motes of Shadow, 10 Greens.

Also another good place to farm is the Sunfury Researchers in the netherstorm at 52,86.

They drop signets, tomes, cloth and if you are an enchanter they drop the +30 int to weapon enchant. (https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=22551) so you can effectively farm 4 things off one mob.

I was looking for a good spot to grind Netherweave, and after reading the comments here, and tried out a few spots. After seeing most of the spots mentioned already taken, I took a look at Legion Hold in Shadowmood Valley, and I would definately recommend this spot! The drop rates on Netherweave Cloth, Marks of Sargeras, and Fel Armaments are all excellent. After just over 2 hours of farming I had 224 Netherweave, 40 Marks of Sargeras and 5 Fel Armaments. Hope this helps anyone looking for a good spot to farm Netherweave, and don't forget, if you're a Scryer, you can sell the Marks and Armaments.

Very good place to grind netherweave cloth + rep(for Sha'tar Skyguard) + gold is Skettis(Terokkar Forest).The only way to go there is by flying mount or be summoned by lock.

The Ancanoweave set is a nice alternative if you are also an enchanter, and don't mind the extra arcane dust;

It uses A lot of arcane dust, but beats farming the cloth. Also Beats farming Netherweb Spider Silk.

Would not suggest making the robe, It begins to not be worth all the materials to mass produce; It's stats are:
+45 Stamina
+50 Arcane Resistance
Restores 9 mana per 5 sec.
156 Armor
(3) Set: Increases your spell hit rating by 16. (534/536 items)
DE= Large Prismatic Shard~100%, Void Crystal~0.4% (2/536 items) The other two item DE the same way.

After trying several farming spots, I conclude that Manaforge Bnaar just west of Area 52 in Netherstorm is the best place in drop percentage. There are several other locations in Netherstorm that are nice to farm, but Bnaar is by far the best spot in the game. Lots of blood elves and lots of signets and tomes as well.

The new Isle of Quel'Danas zone is fantastic for farming Netherweave. Most of the mobs have relatively low HP and drop truckloads of this stuff. I've made about 40 bolts the past week just from doing dailies.

If you're really lazy, the ogres in Barrier Hills are right next to Shattrath and drop Netherweave fairly often.

To keep track of how many you have while farming, you can use a simple macro:
#showtooltip Netherweave Cloth
and put on your spellbar. (looks like reagent count)

This can be done with almost any other item or spell, although clicking the button won't make the spell activate.

There is an ongoing discussion on WoW Economist regarding the price of Netherweave Cloth after WOTLK comes out.

Depending on your server, Runecloth goes for 5 to 15 gold while Netherweave Cloth sells less for than 3g a stack. Note that it can be converted to Heavy Netherweave Bandage , which vendors for 3g (Source: WoW Economist).

There are several factors that will influence the price of Netherweave Cloth on existing realms:

* Frostweave Bandage requires a First Aid skill of 350. In BC we had to make Heavy Runecloth Bandage to reach First Aid 330 and learn Netherweave Bandage. Since Heavy Netherweave Bandage is grey at 375, it will be useless for level 70s.
* Death Knights start with First Aid 270. They will only need Netherweave Cloth to level First Aid from 330 to 350, and plenty of it drops in Outland when leveling.
* Netherweave Cloth, in contrast to Runecloth (Quest: Additional Runecloth), isn't used as a reputation turn-in.

To summarize I doubt that there will be enough demand to quadruple the price of Netherweave Cloth.

In sunspring Post in Nagrand. Scavengers there drop 1-3 almost ever other time. And there not even listed or maybe I overlook. But for any caster 1 to 2 spells take them out. I'm 66 frost mage and I just cone of cold or arcane blast and 3 down.

Odd how no one mentioned that the orcs around Hellfire Citadel have great drop rates, and great respawn rates. I was able to get around 30 stacks in a few hours (not exaggerating). Though it was indeed a murder, I like to think it was worth leveling Tailoring and First Aid.

As a L80 Shadow Priest, I'm currrently power-levelling tailoring from scratch. I'm using the exact method used for the Netherwing daily 'The Not So Friendly Skies'.

Basically, stand next to the platform from which the Dragonmaw Transporters land and take off, and tag each as they arrive / leave. The cloth drops at a steady rate, and you never have to move from that spot, the Transporters just keep coming every few seconds, providing a free Smörgåsbord for cloth farmers with minimal effort and no running around. As an added bonus, those with Netherwing rep can do the quest at the same time.

I agree the blood elves at the ruins of karabor r the best place 2 farm this stuff 1 they r close together making it easy 2 do mass AOE pulls plus they drop sunfury signets that if ur a scryer cn turn in fr rep or sell it on the AH if ur aldor. At lvl 80 i cn do this solo with about 15 mobs per pull but at 70 as a mage i'm recomend a tank 2 help u. also the kill rate is so fast that a powerlvling DK will prolly pay u 2 massacre these mobs while he is in ur group cuz they r so crouded

The best place i found was IoQD (Isle of quel'danas?) at the demons at the portal. Fast respawn rate, mobs are closely packed together and no one is farming there, what do you want more? Nice drop rate ofc. And idd, they drop nice :-)

The best place I found for Netherweave Cloth(as a Protection Paladin) was the Ruins of Karabor and Ata'mal Terrace in Shadowmoon(by the Black Temple). There's three major pulls you can do at the Blood Elves:

First is where the initiates/supplicants are all bunched up. Grab all of fighting pairs and AoE them down.
Second is all of the mobs from after that point, and all the way up to the banished demon.
Third is after the demon, there's two small packs by the female Demon Huntress you can grab(total of 5 mobs), and then run up the stairs to the rest of the trainees.
EDIT: It's possible to combine the Second and Third pull, although it results in a very high chance of the caster mobs evading, and you'll most likely have Spell Breaker up constantly once you stop to AoE them(75% less spell damage)

By the time you've killed all of those, the first ones should start respawning. However, I would usually have to wait 2 minutes or so for the all of the mobs at the first place to spawn, so I simply mounted my drake and went to the ramp where the Fel Orcs are to the north. I grabbed all of the mobs on the hill leading towards the Terrace, a few of the ones by the blacksmith, the ones on the stairs(only the ones standing on it, not any further), then ran back and all the way around the edge.

By the time I had finished pulling I was at about 30% health(running with my back towards them and only using Sacred Shield), and had a ton of orcs on me. I killed them, and then headed back to the elves. Rinse and repeat for profit
EDIT: Note that I was using Seal/Judgement of Light, so health wasn't an issue once I had finished pulling.

I was at 35% passive chance to block, 28k health and 552 defense, and it took me about an hour to get the 37 stacks of Netherweave I needed for my tailor

ok i went and did shadowlabs soloed it took me 30 min on my ret pally ok geared wasnt that hard just watch out for how much u pull

Best place for me as a 70 frost mage (Human, Alliance) has got to be Sunspring Post in Nagrand, Outlands.
In exactly 1 hour i looted 193 Netherweave cloth and a few greys and greens, (DE'd the greens, vendored the greys) and ofc got at least 15-20g worth of loot money.
I without a doubt advise this area the mobs are plentiful and around lvls 65-66.

i like the Wailing Spectres mobs in Deadwind pass, they've been the fastest i've found for getting drops for netherweave, 2 stacks of 20 in about 15min of farming for cloth & doing the dousing quests for the Kara quest chain to unlock the door

One other very nice spot to farm Netherweave are the wretched guys on Isle of Quel'danas.
I managed to get 26 stacks in a little over an hour. Pleasantly surprised on that one.

if you dont care about reputation and you want to just farm cloths fast.

(imho) the best spot for aoe farming theese, is around manaforge b'naar in netherstorm.
really alot mobs are gathered there in groups of 5-10.
(mostly geologists).
with a 40% chance of droping 1-3 cloths each and aprox 5500 hp.
they dont have any anoying spells and they dont run way

I have found a pretty good spot to farm netherweave, its in the bottom right hand corner of Blade's Edge Mountains. Two areas, Vekhaar Stand and Trogma's Claim. The humanoids in these two areas drop nothing else besides netherweave and they drop between 1-4 pieces of the cloth. Once in a while they will drop some gray items, food items and some money, but I started farming in the area and within 15-20 minutes already have 3 stacks in my bags. I would suggest this area to anyone who needs to farm for netherweave. The cloth has an 80-85% chance of dropping, so yes I would highly recommend the area. Oh yeah, by the way the humanoids in the area have a pretty fast respawn rate too.

4 bolt of imbued netherweave cloth, 2 netherweb spider silk and 1 greater planar essence. Bolt of imbued netherweave is made with 2 arcane dust and 3 bolts of netherweave. One bolt of netherweave is made from 6 netherweave cloth.

for me the ogres had crap drop rate, dropped runecloth of all things. went just to the southwest where the orc mobs are, and stupid things dropped 3 netherweave a kill. stupid allakazam and their false numbers.

Farms good killing ogres in nagrand, also gives you rep with some1 i cant remember atm.

I got like 200 per hour, i make bags of them, and sell them 8gold each, so 80G profit per hour.

Don't buy the high Crystal Flayer drop rate (59.5%) I killed 20 of these in a row and got 3 netherweave pieces total, usually getting nothing else instead. Ogres are good for Nagrand rep and Shadowmoon Demons are good for Aldor rep in addition to nice neatherweave drop rates. Good luck farming!

Im tailoring and i need a couple of Netherweave so... who drop de best amount of this in relation time/kill? I've tried farming in ShadowMoon Valley with Sunfury BE, i've taken a lot of arcane tomes and rings to sell in AH or to make rep with Scryers... and a lot of Netherweave, respawn is too high.

I am a lvl 67 mage and a tailor. Ofc the cloth is pretty much anywhere. But I found Sunspring post a good place to go for 66+. Plenty of mobs you can kill, rotate around the town and you will not run out. AOE is excellent. Especially on the scavengers. Very little HP. Besides these murkbloods will drop the occasional green/grey and 8-25s per mob. In an hour you should be able to farm close to 20G and +150 cloth if there are not too many other players around. It is not the most boring place to farm.
Put some music on farm for 2 hrs and you should have around 50 bolts of Netherweave to get you going. Added bonus is you'll be farming Kurenai rep. Unfortunately they do not have a tailoring pattern as reward.

Farming in bash'ir landing on the spell thiefs is a horrible place to farm. Yes the drop rate is nice, but there are not many spell thiefs and you have to kill 4-5 mobs of other types just to get to the thiefs. If you are farming cloth, this is not the place to go

For anyone new to the Outlands (high 50's, low 60's), you can get a decent amount of netherweave cloth off the Bonechewer Orcs to the west of the entrance to Thrallmar.

There's a broken caravan with eight Bonechewers around it, but you can usually fight 2 at a time without pulling the others. Clean these guys out, then run south and kill some Helboars while waiting for the orcs to respawn.

You'll get a decent amount of XP, a lot of runecloth, and a respectable amount of netherweave; plus, if you get in trouble or need to clear out inventory space, you're just a short sprint away from Thrallmar.

farming the terrorfiends was a waste of time. the drop rate posted on thottbot is not even close. boulderfist warriors in nagrand are the way to go.

There is always alternative, try to farm gold instead of Cloth. If you can grind like 60g/1h then stack of cloth in AH is ~3g so 60/3=20 and 20*20=400 - so 1h~400 cloth.

I found the mana forge in netherstorm to be a great place. every 2 or 3 mods for me drop 2-3 cloth. but heres something intresting, right next door to the mana forge is a place called The Heap. its full of corisiom rep mobs that drop tokens that are turned in for rep, and they allso drop at least 1 netherweave cloth per kill( seems allmost like a 90% drop).

so its hard to choose where to farm..

mana forge: drops bulks of 3ish every 3 or so kills.
The Heap: normaly drops 1-2 cloth per kill.

hard dissision in my opinion.

a few notes, even if your scyer, you can still benifiet from farming at the mana forge for cloth, you can allways trade your signets for the aldor signets, just go into a trade channle and say "wtt sunfury signexts x 38 for aldor equiv, pst"

At lvl 70 the best places to farm netherweave are in shadowmoon valley, and the good thing about this is that there are 2 places.
Around the black temple and Legion hold Are good spots

Black Temple: If you go into the front of the black temple and turn left theres a large row of mobs to kill, dropping from 1-3 cloth most times
Drops: 1-3 Netherweave 80% average
Sunfury Signet 40% average
Arcant Tome 2% average

This is great for people who wanna have netherweave but also need to grind there scryer rep. +theres a good greed drop rate but nether the same green so i cant get a %drop rate

Legion Hold: Just as you enter shadowmoon its to your left and also a very easy place to grond Netherweave, this is also a good place to farm your Aldor Rep
Drops: 1-3 Netherweave (at the end of farming here i was gettin) 111% drop rate ^^
Mark Of Sangeras 32%
Fel Arment 3%

I prefer Legion hold as you have a better drop rate and its generally less crowded.

I farm netherweave at Legion Hold in SMV when I need aldor drops but the best drop rates I found are off the void mobs in Nagrand. I was there farming motes of shadow for tailoring and got tons of netherweave. They're easy to kill too.

Im a lvl 70 lock whith tailoring and enchanting.
imo is Manaforge B'naar the best place to farm these.. High drop rate and about 2-4 pieces per kill. They have very low health + they drop lots of greens ! Best farming place ever!

Twilight Ridge on the far west side of Nagrad has an excellent droprate. I farmed there for about an hour killing all the non-elites and avoiding the patroling elite mobs and ended up with a droprate approaching 150%. Almost every single mob dropped at least one netherweave cloth, often dropping three. Also, i gathered 20 Marks of Sargaras and 5 Ohu'gun dust, and a few gold. No greens, but the mob-density and quick respawn rate make this a great place to farm if Netherweave cloth is what you are after.

I farm Voidspawns in Nagrand often. They drop 1-3 netherweave, mote of shadow, and 6 to 15 silver each kill. The netherweave doesn't drop everytime but it is constant enough to make it worth it. After one hour you will easily have 5-7 stacks netherweave, 3-6 primal shadows, and plenty of gold and trash loot with some greens thrown in there. Not to mention there is a rare mob that patrols the northern area Oshu'Gun that drops a blue belt with random stats.

Manaforge B'Naar in Netherstorm is the best place I found. I get about 6 stacks per hour there.. every kill drops 1-4 cloth plus you get about 5 greens per hour and a crap load of Sunfury Signets. Coords (27,70)

I've found a good spot to farm cloth is the Voidspawns around Oshu'gun in Nagrand. They have a pretty high drop rate, and in the meantime, you'll also get motes of shadow, silver, and the occasional green. They're easier to kill than the mobs in Netherstorm and SMV, so it goes faster, too. If the Voidwalkers are being over-farmed, you can also go after the ethereals there, which nobody touches, while you wait for respawns, as they also have a good cloth drop rate.

Farmed enough cloth for 365-370 tailoring there in about an hour a day between raids over a week.

Ive tried several spots. Most of the ones here. All are decent. Another area to add is around 30,76 in Netherstorm. Its a small camp of Zaxxis Raiders. Drop Insignias which are good for consortium rep. They also drop nice amounts of silver. They are in 2s and 3s mostly. Decent greens. And lots of Netherweave cloth. Clear that, fly to Manaforge B'Naar and work on those mobs if your a scryer. Then back to Zaxxix camp.

After one hour of farming for Netherweave Cloth at Manaforge B'Naar in Netherstorm I got:

4x Stacks of Netherweave
40x Sunfury Signets
2x Arcane Tombs
10g in regular silver
60g worth of greens

And even going on the side where the Phase Hunters were you can get Primal Mana's if needed.

I did this on a very well geared pvp lock, so your experience may be slower, but it is still good, and I never had to go inside because the respawns outside were so quick. I imagine you may have to if there are others farming it which there usually are, but there should be enough manaforge's to go around.

I usually farm in Netherstorm for Netherweave but after reading a couple of these comments decided to give Nagrand a try and I have to say it was not bad.
The voids respawn fast and they drop quite a bit of cloth. I also got 3 greens and ended up with 3 Primal shadows in about an hour and a half of grinding.
Not to meantion about 4 stacks of Netherweave.
All in all not a bad farm session.

I spent 4 hours killing Ogres (Warriors and Mages) in Nagrand in the 2 caves near Halaa. Here is the results. I am a level 70 shadow priest.

23x stacks of netherweave (sell for 3.5g each on AH)
300g in trash (18 grays, 15 green, 2 blue)
85 Crystals (4 Halaa research tokens)
23k Rep with Kurieni faction (now exalted)

- Easy kills for me. SW:Pain > MB > MF > MF > SW:Death

imo the cavs in nagrand near haala killin the boulderfists is gd netherweave and maghar rep and u also get some beads which u can swap for maghar or consortium rep
in 2 hours i got
bout 15-20 stacks of netherweave
bout 40-50 obsidian warbeads
lvl 70 hunter

I found that the Ruins of Baa'Ri in Shadowmoon Valley were a great place to farm netherweave. Quite a few mobs that respawn quickly, they can be gathered and nuked. I got about 10 stacks in about an hour as an 80 warlock, and I wasn't really trying all that hard.

Another great place to farm Netherweave cloth is in skettis. the place where you do dailys for the shatari skyguard faction. the mobs normally drop 2-3 pieces.

ok guys the absolute best place to farm netherweave is on the isle of queldanas, the bridge that leads to sunwell plateau is a staging point. first go right to where all the demons are beside the wrath gate thing there are around 15 guys down there and as you kill them they respawn right in front of you, after yo have taken them down significantly and the respawns are slower go under the bridge towards the bloodelfs and start killing everything there when you are done there go back to demons i get 17 stacks an hour average if nnone belives it come to arygos us whisper supertramp and i will show you how it is done

Skettis near Shadowmoon valley is very good. Plus you build rep by killing the arakkoa. I've tried all the places listed above, but this is the best drop rate I've seen.

The droprate of Netherweave on Fel Sprites is VERY FAR off.
I just killed 10 packs of them (30 Fel Sprites) and I got 7 Netherweave out of them. This is not an 80% chance.
I think it is roughly a 23% chance.

With the cutthroat AH market these days you can often pick this up for less than 3g a stack. Turn it into Heavy Netherweave bandages and vendor it. You might only make a few silver per stack but it adds up. Set to craft while you go make food or something and come back and vendor. Sometimes it's as low as 2g75 a stack! People would rather lose money than level first aid. Strange world but little tricks like this can add up quick.

I don't have one of those farming mages so my holy paladin is what I use to round up multiple humanoids at once and concecrate them all down while I flash heal. Can easy pick up 100 or more in 30-45 min in any densely populated area. Nagrand Ogres, Ashtongue in Shadowmoon, Sunfury in Netherstorm, Ogres in Zangarmarsh...the key is killing a lot quickly. I send it off to my tailor and make bags.

Another good place is the Xaxxis ethereals down on the Heap in Netherstorm, particularly if you want to farm consortium rep. I farmed at least 1500 cloth while gathering insignias and keys.

In a lot of these areas too you will loot a lot of raw gold and grey items and make a tidy bit of pocket money before even processing the cloth and greens.

March 22, 2023, I can confirm that Vekhaar Stand (south of horde FP Mok'nathal Village, a bit east of that gnome alliance FP, Toshley's Station or whatever) is still really good for farming netherweave.

Easy enough to do circuits, too, if you have flight. You do the opening in front of the cave, then loop around inside, make it to the back terrace, then it's just a short hop of a flight to the left to get back to the open area in front of the cave, by which point the mobs have respawned. (This is on a lvl 67 balance druid.) Just put on a podcast or a documentary to listen to, farm the arrakoa and the ogres, lather, rinse, repeat!

Been at it for a little less than an hour, and have nearly 100 cloths, Wrath Classic.

Netherweave Cloth farming update: The path suggested on the Isle of Quel'Danas near the questgivers, grinding demons and Dawnblades, does really well. I've gained about 90 cloth in just 14 minutes (as gauged by my Gift of the Wild buff timer). You can pick up the quests for those mobs, too. Just be aware the Emissary of Hate (the one you stab the banner into) gives zero drops.

The spawnrate for demons and Dawnblades is pretty decent, too, better than the arakkoa and ogres in the southest corner of Blade's Edge Mountains once you're on the north side of lvl 70. I'd recommend SE BEM for mid-60s grinding, and the Isle for 70+, since once you get Northrend geared, the respawn rate is a bit slow for SE BEM. The downside is that you do have to be lvl 70 to get there, but once you can, Quel'Danas has all lvl 70+ mobs, so you'll continue to get xp for several levels to come, here in Wrath Classic.

Tested just the demons for a little over 1 hour, got 10 stacks of Netherweave Cloth (200 cloth). Didn't farm excessively fast, did catch the ones on the hillsides within range of the divot where the demon gate is located between the quest givers and the Sunwell entrance. And the respawn rate kept up with my fire rate, mostly single-target (to emulate mages, priests, etc). (lvl 71 balance druid) ...The important thing is to have something to listen to while grinding, lol...
