One of the two new 1h spellpower weapons which hasnt got either spirit nor mp5 (both are useless for elemental shaman) and what weapon type did blizzard chose ?
Sword !

So complette Ulduar 10+25 has exactly ONE weapon which doesnt waste points on useless stats for elemental shamane and that is a drop of 25 man Yogg Saron...

The hit on this weapon clearly makes it a dps caster choice, no healer should EVER gear for +hit. Mage or Warlock weapon by far.

Just wanted to throw it out there https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=45332 also drops off Ulduar 10man and is superior in DPS to this weapon for mages and locks, even with the hit. On the other hand, this weapon is far superior for PvP due to the high stamina. Feel free to pass this to a Hpaly if you already have stormtip or you are downing 10 man council regularly, and if you don't PvP.

Has anyone else noticed that this sword is a direct copy of the sword from the movie "Troy". It's Achilles sword in the movie.

Blizzard hate - They itemize an item perfectly for elemental shamans, and make it very accessible. And then they make it a sword. Nevermind the 3-4 caster daggers, which all have spirit on them and drop in our faces constantly..

Only good elemental weapon from Uld10 is from General Vezax Hard-mode, which really isn't as accessible as FL normal.

Just got this tonight for my lock and I must say that I am now all puffy down there. Excellent caster DPS weapon and such an upgrade from the Titansteel Spellblade that I've been rocking since I dinged 80.

Also the Firesoul looks AMAZING with Exceptional Spirit on it... so sparkly.

In addition, comment threads like this one make me very happy that my healers know how to play their class AND know how to gear their toons.

Whether or not a healadin should roll really depends on several factors...

In my case, every other caster DPS in the raid already had it or better, so I wasn't "stealing" it from anyone. It was a guild run. And it was a clear upgrade over Grieving Spellblade, even with the loss of crit the other stats really make up for it. In our case it was DE it or give it to me, so I got it.

I agree no healadin should roll against a caster DPS for this, but to say that a healadin should never equip it is oversimplifying.

It's totally a fire mage/lock item.

I would like to have my 2 cents about the whole "holy paladin rolling on this item" thing.

I have a holy paladin, and he has this item. Is the +hit hurting me? No. While it's true that it should be a mage/warlock's roll that counts first there is no reason why a paladin should not roll on it if there is no caster dps who needs it.

Anyone who says that a holy paladin should NEVER get this item should get their heads check. (and I'm looking at more than a few of you in the comments so far)

It has intellect, spellpower and haste. Three out of four of a holy paladin's states of choice.

EDIT: the +hit actually does help a holy paladin slightly. As we get certain bonus's from using out judgements. They allow for passive healing and also give us 15% more haste. The +hit (while not major) does infact serve a purpose for holy paladins.

For the heck of it, I'll be rolling on this as a Holy Pally. It's an upgrade over any 10-man healing weapons, and if I want to make a Shockadin (which I do just for fun) this weapon is perfect. Now I just need to get WoW reinstalled... lol
