No hunter who has progressed this far would be stupid enough to consider for a moment using this weapon.

Though I have seen a hunter rolling with Despair (STR and chance on melee hit proc) enchanted with Mongoose (chance on melee hit proc). So I guess anything's possible.

Even still this is a ridiculous weapon for warriors and shamans. Its the equivalent of https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=32332 though may be somewhat harder to acquire because of who it drops from, the drop rate is almost identical. Some might also consider it an equivalent to the much harder to acquire Cataclysm's Edge https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=30902 which drops from Archimonde, but like I said its much harder to get so Its strength is 10 higher, dps is 8 higher and its equip bonus is 20 higher, however is stamina is still 14 less which is still a noticable amount. In the case of humans (+5 sword and mace skill) and orcs (+5 axe skill) then their racial weapon should be used.

Even if it did it would still suck. The armour reduction is very small, and this axe has no other things on it a hunter would want. Even the old Lok'Delar is vastly superior.

Retribution Paladins should look forward to this weapon if they haven't already picked up Jin'rohk, or something better from the near end of Hyjal or Black Temple (CE, or the Torch).

While the stats don't include any haste or critical strike, the strength and the armor penetration (coupled with Executioner on this item) should be phenomenal for DPS.

I'm my guild's Arms Warrior and I will let our Ret Pally take this before I do. (Both of us have Jin'rohk right now.) Honestly, I might just pass on it completely, as poleaxe is inferior to swords for PvE and I honestly I prefer maces or swords for PvP too.

Wow...if a warrior ever comes along with one of these in AV or EOTS...the casters are gonna be in trouble. Armor Reduction does more against targets with lower armor to begin with so mages are gonna be hit hard by this one.

as of 3.0.2 this axe is no longer a very good weapon for shaman, granted it's still a great axe, but getting only 65 ap from the strength means there are better weapons available.

I have this weapon and as a pally I find this veryy effective for pvp and battlegrounds. Other than the pally or hunter I would find this a little pointless for a shammy or Druid.

I'd say this is good for a warrior for temporary use until you get better it has perfect stats, good dmge.But lacks crit rate and is pretty slow

It drops of Teron Gorefield in Black Temple. Judging from the icon, it might have a similar graphic to Gorehowl.

It's nice, but not that best 2hander "available". Check out Cataclysm's Edge, of Archimonde.

with the Warrior tier that has alot of "ignore targets armor" on it, this would just be icing on the top. im glad they're finding new ways to increase dps other then just the normal stats.

first of all if your guild is good enough to even get this far to get the item...1: they will give it to the arms warriors over any other class...maybe ret pallies but you will rarely find one at this point in the game...2: hell if no warriors want and your a hunter and willing to waste DKP or whatever your guild uses to get this item then thats your business.

everyone plays their class the way they want so if you want to go up close and start meleeing as a hunter thats your problem and with people saying hunters = bad at melee there is a video on youtube with a hunter tanking nefarion Pre BC.- and im not saying as a hunter that iwould get this it certainly is a waste for us

I'm sorry for even ebing nubly about it, but if you were a hunter...just why in god's name would you take this from a Warrior...AT ALL! Jesus Christ you'd have o be insane and if you were in my guild, i'd have to see you upfront fighting 24/7...but that would never happen lol. This axe is sick sick sick, but rly for those heavy armored brutes upfront...i'd love for my pally to have this though :p.

this is a warrior weapon, possibly an enhancement shaman or pally but warrior gets the first dibs, it has uber dps which warriors need strength and stamina which warriors need, if a hunter outbidded me to this i'd kick his $%^&*!@ ass back to runescape

Due to an increasing demand from #$%^&*!s... the release of the expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, will include a "Petting Zoo" on Northrend that will be exclusive to ^&*!@#$s and their petting needs. *!@#$%^s will also have their own private boat to Northrend as well to prevent other players from harassing them. OMG ima BM hunter and i would rather die than even greed for this item! i feel like putting a big aimed shot in the back of every hunter that even considered getting warrior weapons! to all u other hunters...yes melee weapons are nice stat bonuses for but for god's sake dont go for every new freakin 2h weapon just cuz it looks cool or it has high dps. im tired of &*!@#$%s sayin "well im a hunter i need dps" OMG not melee dps u sorry SOBs! and to every1 else.. sorry for all the #$%^&*ed hunters out there...(and its not a typo that im a BM hunter with aimed shot)

Have this on my pally.
Executioner doesn't look great on it, but IMO is the enchant of choice if you have armor ignore stacked else-where.

I don't get it...

How do all these naked guys with no armor keep getting these level 70 weapons?

this weapon is for arms warriors ONLY. im saying this since a retribution paladin and an enhancement shaman would obviously want to use torch of the damned... the best 2h weapon in the game for their class! (its haste rating and crit chance+ give it the edge) same goes for clataclysms edge or w/e

just got this the other day on my resto shamman....2nd time it dropped for my guild, none of our warriors wanted it and our ret pally has torch of the damned so it goes to offsets...kinda disapointing that such a jizz bomb of an item is only going to offsets for our healers :/

P.S...when i respecced enh for a lil whlie...it hit like a truck :) even works when im resto and i find a horrid geared perrson in bg i can take em down w/ wf on it lol its funny :)
