this leads to hunters cobra strikes, someone found this on a vendor in hillsbrad and used it in the lake south of tarren mill to spawn an elite that drops it, but sadly we couldn't verify the info yet.

edit: this has since been hotfixed and now shows up correctly in zixils sold items.

I can confirm that it works. You can only summon it in the boat. It has 2000+ life but the beast mastery rune is on the guarantor and the pet can handle it. I did it at level 22

This piece of bait allows you to obtain the Rune of Cobra Strikes.

To get the bait you buy it from Zixil who is a travelling merchant that patrols between Southshore (Alliance) and Tarren Mill (Horde).

Once you have purchased the bait, travel just south of Tarren Mill to a small lake (60,32).

Jump on the fishing boat in the middle of the lake and use the bait. (I didn't try it outside of the boat, that may work)

This will spawn an elite turtle called Koartul.

Kill it for the rune.

2. Locate Zixil traveling between:
Tarren Mill 58.0 X , 19.7 Y
South Shore 50.9 X , 51.3 Y
He also takes a stop at tower 55.0 X , 35.2 Y
3. Purchase 1x for 20 silver
4. Travel to the lake under Tarren Mill at 61.0 X , 32.8 Y
5. Jump on the boat & use bait to summon the
6. Kill the elite, then loot & learn the

1. Travel to Tarren Mill
2. Find Zixil - he travels the road between Tarren Mill & Southshore.
3. Purchase a Freshwater Snapper Bait
*note: bait will not show up in his inventory once you collect the rune. So if you plan to tame him, purchase multiple bait now.
4. Head to the small lake just south of Tarren Mill.
5. Jump on the small boat inside the lake.
6. Use the Freshwater Snapper Bait to summon Koartul.
7. Defeat Koartul and loot the Rune of Cobra Strikes.

I bought 2 snapper baits and free action potions (Koartul has a knockdown)

Use frozen trap on port side of boat, just touching water
stand on starboard side of boat, throw bait, use free action, tame when you see him. GL!

do again in 3 mins, but kill him and youve got a turtle and cobra strikes
