A little piece of advise: if they are too much or too many, run to the exit!! Guards will help and the traps there will also do the job (check the picture of the impaled defias if you don't believe it!!!).

Nippur is incorrect about the gaurds helping you with the inmates. They do no such thing.

Once you enter the instance. You fight the inmates that are within the instance. The inmates inside are Elites.

The inmates that the guards outside of the instance fight (the ones that Nippur took a screen shot of) are not part of the instance. They are not Elite NPC's, and they don't even challenge you when they spawn. At least they have not challenged me.

I tried several times to see if Nippur is correct. But he is not. I even killed one that walked past the instance portal, that I could not loot due to distance. When I went outside, he was gone. When I went back inside, he was still on the steps to far for looting.

Just letting you know in case you have any ideas of doing this solo and thinking you can get help from outside the instance.

Although. Running out the exit and then going back inside, resets the inmates. So if you agro a lot of them and make it outside. You don't have to wait to go back in.

I did this quest as a lvl 22 warrior, along with another lvl22 dwarf warrior/healer. We found him in the stockade, in the first room on the right. There are several other 24-26 elites wandering the hall and in the room with him that you need to take out first. We did have to dash back through the portal a couple times, but it can be done.

the guy on the right is tagorr for a quest called What Comes around...

bazil is on the far right side past all the cells in the center little pathway leading after the big ogre humhack

Yes i have the unsent letter quest i got off of Edwin VanCleef... but i dont knwo where to return it to i cant see the map...

He's not in the first room on the right. Turn right at the first CORRIDOR on the right and go to the end. He's guarded by two 24+ Elites.

I can't seem to get this quest back. I'm guessing I abandoned it at some point when my quest log was full. I think I may be hosed...any ideas?

I first tried this at level 29 solo hunter. I died a lot and went away to try again later...but I didn't abandon the quest.

When I enter now at level 31, they're still really hard to kill and I still die a lot.

Do I have to abandon this quest and then restart it in order to function at my higher level? (IOW is it still re-entering me into the stockades as a level 29...?)

Otherwise, I can't figure out why this is so hard!

As a lvl 40 Shaman, I want to ride a horse so I'm doing all the westfall and redridge quests I skipped as I leveled. Soloed this pretty easily. The bosses in Stockades never drop loot. How disappointing!

To the poster above: you are functioning at your level as you enter. The dungeons don't "remember" you. It's hard because these mobs are elites, which makes them function as though they are 5-10 levels above their posted level.

I have picked up the letter i have gone and spoken to alex barros but it wouldn't let me take the next part of the quest i dont think i was a high enough level at the time. However my letter has gone and it still says i need to deliver the letter to alex but it wont let me as i dont have the letter what do i do ? do i abondon the quest ? will VC drop another letter ?

Stockades are great - i can solo them from lvl39 with my warrior. prefure this one to deadmines as drops are worth more even though they are less

Think I got 2650xp for this at lvl 31.

The ultimate reward for this quest chain is Seal of Wrynn, an incredible twinking or levelling ring. The entire chain rewards a ton of XP and has you visiting multiple instances and zones. Twinks would be best to commence this long chain as soon as is practicable, at level 16, and of course you'll need some buddies to carry you.

The Unsent Letter - a drop from Edwin VanCleef in The Deadmines, who might also drop Cape of the Brotherhood, Cruel Barb or Blackened Defias Armor if you are really lucky!

If, like me, you abandoned this quest before going to the Stockades & want to pick it up again. Don't panic. If you did all the parts beforehand. I.e. took Van Cleef's letter to Baros Alexston & took the quest Bazil Thredd to Warden Thelwater, then Warden Thelwater will still have this quest for you.

Huge relief, thought I was going to have to do Deadmines again to get another letter.

Please note - I already had The Stockade Riots quest when I abandoned it. If you delete the letter before any other hand-in, you are going to have to re-do Deadmines for another letter!
