These legs can last until you get the ones form the gnomer quest.

And their making so that the high lv patches get the standard level 35 requirement in patch 2.1

As of the latest patch, the Clefthoof Leg Armor cannot be attached to any pants under level 35 making these the best twink pants again.

These are excellent pants for a druid, rogue, or shaman. They are good twink pants (Not so much anymore with leg enchants for BOE pants) and they are also great pants for leveling. My shaman used this until he hit 40 and could replace them with the Scarlet pants.

They are also good for ret paladins and warriors if they don't mind the armor loss.

thes pants are byfar the best pants a twink can have in the 10-19 bracket (if u dont have a lvl 60+ main like me.) its not important to look for the whole set at all when ur a rogue cause the set stats are not relavent to rogues and cause theres better stuff out there that replace the gloves, belt etc.

yep 2356mercer is right the base stats for these legs is probably the best but the fact that this is a BoP makes it far away from twink gear.

You need a BoE, like Dark Leather Pants. Can be easily made yourself if you go into leatherworking.

The usual enchant is 30 stam+ 10 agi+

however if you REALLY want to twink it you'd go for the 40+stam and 12+agi.
Or you could go for the critical strike rating/attack power one.

If u are a lvl 24 rogue can u easely solo Lord Cobrah to get these legs. Just Stealth to him (use Distract alot so the mobs doesn't see u), when u are at Cobrah use Distract, Sap him, kill adds (snakes), Vanish and nuke Cobrah down.
Watch out for his heal, use Gogue or Kick to interupt it.

I made it as lvl 24 ud rogue, I used 1 Lesser Healing Potion and Evasion. I do think u can solo him already at lvl 22, but then u have to be more carefull and bring a Healing Potion or a Greater Healing Potion.

Combat rogue with ok gear.

Just stealth up to Cobrahn, wait for the pat to leave.

Sap him, kill his snakes, vanish and regen.

Then get to killing.

Try to save evasion for his serpent form.

Soloed him last night with my lv22 rogue and he dropped the leggings. He was VERY easy to kill! I recommend all lv22 rogues try this, it was a fun little adventure to test your solo skills, and you can get nice blue pants. You wont be able to do this till lv22 tho, cuz u need Vanish Rank1.

Step 1 - Get buffs! Get a priest to cast Fortitude Rank3 before you head to WC. Inside WC the first NPC will cast MOTW Rank2 if you talk to him. Apply poisons and drink str/agi potions or use scrolls.

Step 2 - Get it Done! Stealthed to Lord Cobrahn. Sapped him first, and killed his 2 snake minions (2 lv19 non elites, they dropped like flies). Bandaged, then vanished when the sap wore off, and waited for patrol to walk past. Opened with crit ambush, then gouge + kick to interupt spells (dont let him cast a sigle spell or you may die.) This mob is mainly a caster till hees down to 1/4 health then he goes melee. At 1/4 health use evasion, you wont even need a healing potion (bring one just incase). Just after looting the Leggings, I aggroed a patrol but was able to sprint off the cliff and get out of aggro range (I thought instance elites followed u out to the entrance, but apparently not in WC). I also tried to solo kill Skum for the blue cape drop, but I'll post about that under the Glowing Lizardscale Cloak.

I use daggers Talon of Vultros +4 and Blackvenom Blade +4. I also have almost all blue lv18-22 rogue gear, all with high level enchants.

Okay, guys, you are reading a bit too far into it. Its a set that is for lowbies, it is meant to be well rounded and for multiple classes seeing as it has no class requirement ;) i have it on my shammy (lvl 21) and i love it. The int bonus is nice and so it str, agi, spi, etc. i can kill like 5 or 6 mobs in a row casting (thanks to int), then plant a totem and melee two or three mobs (str, agi) and then my mana is back up(spi) and i keep on going. Maybe its the set, or maybe its just shammies. whatever it is, i still say this set rocks. I didnt know about it till i got it on my shammy, wish i had for my hunter and my druid alts, both are over 40 now though so that isnt too useful anymore.

My point is:
Hunters: have pets to tank, they attck from afar, and need mana for highest damage shots. (if u have enough mana u can grind nonstop, just heal pet real fast and head off)
Druids: yea the shapeshifting healing thing +natural shapeshifter talent, trust me, pwns.
Shammies: well, they pwn all the time, but the set helps too.
Rogues: yea, go for the defias, its much better for you.

And talon of vultros guy, dont put posts about twinks soloing stuff. Do u have ANY idea how many lvl 22 rogues u sent to their doom?

One more thing, Locks haven't worn leather scine beta. not too sure if mages EVER had leather ability...sorry to burst your bubble though hun. ;)

I dont know if you guys noticed, but not only are the legs really good but so are the boots. They are a must for every twinked hunter or rogue. Both classes need stamina and agility and these 2 peices of the set are the best you can get for that level.

I like the pants' benefits, but why do they have to look like they came out of a costume shop in San Francisco?
I can't stand the colors or pattern, and I've seriously considered ditching them be cause they're that ugly to me. But I have yet to find better pants.

Run into WC and stand in the water under were the boss is. Get a booster to run right for it (he wont have to kill every mob on the way)
one run takes around 4-5 min, i got it on the sec run. Horde and ally ofc.

Hi, I have seen many twinks that are wearing Dark leather pants with Clefthide leg armor. Are they just stupid that don't wear Leggins of the fang with Clefthide leg armor instead, or can't you put Clefthide leg armor on Leggins of the fang?

I did this place at least 20x before they dropped....only to realize as stated before better twink pants would be any old boe of the monkey or something so that you can put 300hp + 10 agi to them instead. If you're gonna twink do it right, I see tons of ppl w/ over 1600 hp @ 19, which is a huge difference than your average 1200hp twink.

Considering that 50% of the enemies in this dungeon are called Druid of The Fang... and that just about every class of horde (im alliance btw) can be a druid, i think this is clearly a druid... particularly feral.. druid set...

the added bonus of increased staff skill also hints to this... never have I seen a shaman with a staff (keep in mind again, that i am alliance)

However, if a druid and a shaman both role on it, it should go to whoever needs it most... like.. whose stats will increase the most...

for ex...

a regular druid should get it over a twink...

i know this has been posted like 10 times before but people seen to have missed em, or they're simply retards,

1:Leggings of the fang CANNOT and i repeat CANNOT be attached with clefthide leg armor
here's why:

to attach the clefthide kit you MUST be lvl 60, there are no buts, and it CANNOT be done as an enchant by the "will not be traded" option

2: if you really want to twink a rogue / hunter, get dark leather pants, DO NOT EQUIP
3: buy the clefthide leg armor and give BOTH items to a lvl 60 toon or to a lvl 60 you trust, let him equip the leg armor into the pants
4: trade the pants back to your "twink" and equip

FACTS

leggings of the fang: 5 str
9 agi
4 stam : 40 health

dark leather pants: 8 agi

dark leather pants: 30 stam: 300 health
( with clefthide ) 18 agi

conclusion:

dark leather pants > leggings of the fang

I did what oldhead said, and solo'd lord cobrahn for the leggings.

This is easily accomplishable as long as you are a feral druid or rogue level 25-29, or level 19-25 if you have exception gear with enchants.

All you do is stealth to him in the instance, and kill him. Dont worry about the pythons, they die as his health goes down.

The only worry is the pat, so try to time it so you start to kill him as soon as the pat is out of range walking away.

Embrace of the viper is a Druid set. All set bonuses are made for Druids and NOT Rogues. Why? What can a Rogue do with +Healing, +Nature Dmg and +Intellect? Nothing.

Second is that WC is full of Druids. You would think the gear the Druids would be dropping would be Druid related. Any Rogue %^&*!ing about a Druid needing or winning any piece of this gear is a complete moron.

Though a Rogue should still be able to roll need if his gear is worse than that. The stats can still be used with Rogues even if the set bonuses are useless. A Rogue should be going for the Defias gear found in VC and a Druid should be going for the Embrace of the Viper gear from WC.

Chances to drop are:

. Armor of the Fang = 52.05%
. Gloves of the Fang = 1.20%
. Belt of the Fang = 8.64%
. Leggings of the Fang = 16.03%
. Footpads of the Fang = 19.08%

Don't bother if your levelling your char up to 70. Why? Because it's so easy to level now you may as well quit wasting time instancing and just power through the quests. At 30+ you really feel the difference.

This isn't a twink item anymore because of the Burning Crusade's Clefthide Leg Armor which has +30 sta and +10 agi. Why can't i put clefthide on these you ask? Because you can't put clefthide on BoP items.

Bottom line: NOT A TWINK ITEM their bop so cannot have clefthoof on them for 19 WSG twinking... unless you can find a way for your pre 20 char to stick clefthoof leg armour (that requires 60 to use) on these legs? Oh you can't trade it with a 60+ as it's Binds On Pickedup! On the other hand these are nice legs for levelling and the guy who drops them can be reached easily and farmed by a feral till they drop :3 Did it at 24 pretty easy had about 1.2k hp in bear with stam centric gear on... make sure not to heal while he melees you with his sticks as he will rape your health, back off to (hopefully) make him use his magic attack to heal pre-snake form (he switches at say 50% health). His snake form has a slow attack so a good time to use big heals (like healing touch) without getting slapped silly.

I was on my Tauren Druid last night. I wanted these legs so bad.. and a warrior NEEDS it. I lose. I only need them, the belt, and feet. I've got gloves and chest piece. The entire group was pissed at him for that, and one helped me run on his 70 Belf Rogue. :) Still didn't drop, but he said he'd help again today. :)

The 60 needs the legs and the armour pack in their inventory you nab or they can't apply it... you can't trade them BoP legs so you would need to be 60 to do it yourself which would defeat the object of 19 twinking quite nicely.

The boss guy can be solo farmed relatively easy at 24+ with a feral druid, took me 13 tries to get them :P Considering how overpriced most agi gear is in ah this is your best bet till you run gnomers and get the triprunner dungarees

One of my guildies is trying to complete his fang armor set and has all the pieces but this one. The leggings dropped on one occasion, but he was outrolled for them by another guildie who'd come along and needed them as well.

We've been grinding Cobrahn off and on since then with my 44 hunter to try and get these things but no luck so far. I think we are fast approaching the point where I hear "You'll never wake the dreamer!" in my sleep and wake up in a cold sweat.

DROP YOUR PANTS, COBRAHN! FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY! WE'LL GO AWAY IF YOU JUST DROP YOUR FRIGGIN' PANTS!

Lol this is the best 19 twink rogue/hunter leggings. Sure, its good for druids and shammies, but if a rogue or hunter wants to roll for it, you have to let them, brcause with all honesty +str +stam and +agi aren't caster stats. I have The Defias chestpiece, 2x Cruel Barbs, Feet of the Lynx, Deviate Scale Belt and other random greens for my 19 rogue twink on Maelstrom, I can't wait for these bad boys to drop. And whoever said there ugly is a moron, these things are HAWT!

Ive been trying to get this for a long time but it wont drop for my shaman. The full set is pretty nice for shaman and druids and i would love to get the leggings. WC is a pretty good instance for Shamans offering stinging viper seedcloud buckler and Embrace of the Fang, Hope the rest of you shamans and druids get the set, i think its worth the hunting

sux for u man, the first time i did this with my 40+ warrior at the time i got them...second time i got the robes. first time i did it with my 16 rogue, got the leggings. btw way better than defias.

This armor set may as well be an epic class specific because I have yet to see this drop recently. Although this piece says roughly 3 out of 20 but I am 0 for 20 so far, which is totally discouraging my hunt for the whole set. The chestpiece has no problem dropping at all but this item as well as the belt has yet to be seen for my recent character. What friggin gives WoW?

Never even heard of this set, grinding WC for DE mats for my alt warlock with my hunter. Leggings dropped. Looked up the set here and went back with my 20 druid. Got a guild mage to help me out and made 2 runs that night. Leggings and gloves the first run. Chest the 2nd. Nothing the 3rd. Finished up the rest on the 4th run. Nice balanced set for druid.

I've boosted my friends from level 13-17 hoping for these and never dropped once. Yet I go there on my 17 Rogue and drops first time... :D Oh well.

I soloed this just now with my 23 Rogue, since it's 3 in the morning, noone is on to run me through =)

Dropped on the second try, thank goodness. I only have so many healing pots and such, couldn't stand to get another stupid robe, or the belt.

Not sure if Druid's could do this since they're somewhat lacking as much DPS, but then again they could prolly beartank/heal or some such, just watch out for those dang python adds!

You might also want to try this just to test yourself in a dungeon in your level range. Stealth to Cobrahn, kill him, loot, kill pythons/vanish/run/sprint/parachute cloak/etc etc etc.

I really dont believe the drop rate is 15%, at least not any more...

Ive many chars and ive also helped others with getting this too - pre 2.0/BC I used to get it within 6 runs every time (probably gotten this item 10 times between my own chars and for others)... but ^^ Today and y'day Ive been on many many runs and Ive not gotten it to drop yet! (around 35ish runs so far >_<;) and I want to get it twice as both myself and my bf are making shammy's :'(

If anyone wants a tip on running this very fast (not that it matters all that much i guess since u can only do so many runs per hour). High lvl clear the way only to the crocodiles in the water, low lvl just stay by the nearest point to the boss on the ground (water area)while the high lvl goes solo up and around to the boss, pull boss back a lil towards the cliff edge just to be sure low lvl can roll on the item, done in minutes...

Hope the rest of you have better luck with drop rate and that we get ours tomorrow ^^!

I guess I am a lucky Druid. I got all set pieces in 2 runs. On the first run I got the leggings, on the second run the rest of the set. :)

Aye, Str Sta and Agi, arent caster stats, but druids and shamans aren't pure casters, and infact a Feral Druid or Enhancement Shaman needs more melee stats then caster stats, partiqularly early in the game, where they wont be called on to be the main healer as often, and if they are, their spec doesnt hinder begin the main healer, because talent development takes longer to express its self as a definition of what the character is built for then 10-15 levels.

Id say any rogue/hunter/shammy/druid has a right to need on these.. but thats just me. =-)

Not sure if anyone has took notice on the set bonuses lately. But the Embrace of the Viper gear seems to be more geared towards Hunters now. I never met a Druid or Shaman that needs "Increases gun skill rating by 4". As far as the other set bonuses.
"Increases damage done by Nature spells and effects by up to 7" - Serpent Sting, "Increases healing done by spells and effects by up to 11" - Mend Pet, "+10 Intellect" - Cause believe it or not, we have mana also.

*edit* Guess Blizzard cannot make up its mind on what it wants the set bonuses to be. I have seen Staves, Staff and Guns. All with different numbers for them also.

i was thinking of using this on a warrior witha armour upgrade (probs +150) of somesort because of the stamina + strengh because this is the best twink legs out, and there are no blue legs for warriors or mail users :(

and of course Hunters and shammies :) I play a Druid myself, now lvl24 so I'll be replacing the set soon. Funny fact (for me) is that the design of the chest has a striking resemblance to my guild tabard on another server (2 snakes etc.)! I don't need a tabard now :P

I have 4/5 * of the Fang now, only need the belt. Just for the hell of it I'll try and get the set complete.

I'd love this for my rogue, everything except the chestpiece. I'll get Defias Leather for that.

I don't even need the set bonusses (nor those of Defias Leather) because it's basically a low lvl thing which I will get rid of 2 lvls after, but the nice agi makes it worth my while to grind for it, I reckon...

Just took a 19 Undead Rogue through tonight on my 43 Tauren Warrior because he wanted just that one item. Took a total of only 5 runs to get it, and he paid 10 Gold for the run-through. :D Now I just need to get them and the belt for my 19 Tauren Shaman.

It's for shammies and druids.

If there is either in your party, don't roll against them for these.

I got this on my first run in WC on my twink rogue. Me, hunter and druid both needed on it, as they should. I won the roll and instantly equipped it, being vastly superior to my old pants, and the druid went completely bat^&*!. Started insulting me and yelling and being a general retard. I told him to stop insulting me or I'd leave the party (I can solo the WC trash and none of the other bosses have anything interesting so it didn't matter to me). Needless to say, 2 minutes later I had all the skinnables to myself =)

Don't listen to what other people think. This is a rogue or hunter item at heart. Sure, a druid has as much right to roll on it as we do, but nobody can tell rogues or hunters they can't roll on it.

Um, druids and shamans need agi, str, sta too, not all of them are balance or elemental. Yea sure, hunters & rogues could roll on this, but when it comes to the set bonus, its geared towards druids and shamys.

And this is horrible for twinks :x

Just out of stupid fun I've been farming this guy when I reached level 60, and he doesn't drop this.

I've killed him over 20 times and got 18 Robe of the Moccasin and about 5 Cobrahn's Grasp. Had I the WoW reader installet, you'd get a 90% drop of that f*cking robe and a 0% of the Leggings.

On my BE hunter; she already has just about everything else that WC has to offer (venomstrike, armor, belt, gloves, wingblade and also tailspike and serpent shoulders which are both now blue items since 2.3), but the leggings. will. not. drop.

So far I've gotten the robe of the moccasins 15 times and cobrahn's grasp 3 times. I was thinking they had decided to remove it from the game until a rogue told me he got a pair the other day. One thing is for damn sure - no way is this the same drop frequency as grasp. Maybe once upon a time but not these days; I'm thinking someone messed up something when they retuned the instance for blue drops, and pegging it at closer to 2% not 16%.

I remember doing this on my shammie and being annoyed that it took me (only!) four runs with her.

Frickin redonkulous. The only reason I'm still bothering at this point is pure stubbornness - if you're thinking about trying this, do yourself a favor and don't.

farmable in Sod by hunter (and druid according to my guildmate).

I was level 25 with a scorpid pet, there are basically 4 non-skippable elite packs, and only 2 got more than 2 mob. mark and watch the patrols, be patient. used BM rune + Lion + Sniper training

18% my ass. The R in blizzards RNG has a tilt, and I'm convinced it weights against the slot drops when beneficiaries are present. I've seen these drop repeatedly when the group is 4x clothies (Priest, lock, and two mages) and a paly tank, only to become shard fodder. On the other hand, I've taken full leather stealth squads (2x druid, 3x rogue) in and ran the instance 20+ times, never to see them drop once.
