It should be noted that the epic gems does NOT drop of bosses, but the bosses rather drop a token called Mote of Darkness a form of currency used to buy Crystalline Geode that MAY contain an epic gem.

From out Dragon Soul clear yesterday it seemed that most had around at least 1 epic gems in the 7 bags they could buy from the tokens.

So it would seem to us that the normal mode tokens is around a 1/7 chance of getting an epic gem.

Madness of Deathwing (The last boss in Dragon Soul) normal drops a different kind of token called Essence of Corrupted Deathwing. It can be used to buy Elementium-Coated Geode That has a 100% chance of containing 1 epic gem.

It should be noted that the tokens is NOT rolled for. It is what i would call an "Automatic Currency" that when you kill the boss can be found in your currency tab. And everyone in the raid gets 1 for each boss.

As with the heroic mode they drop the same amount of tokens as the normal modes do.

These gems change the efficiency of some professions, which are those dealing with them & sockets. Comparing the average stat bonus from all professions (+80 stat or +120 Stamina excluding tailoring & herbalism) & somebody wearing an epic gem in all slots:

A jewelcrafter's stat gain will be +51 or +78 possible stamina.

A blacksmith's stat gain will be +100 or +160 possible stamina.

To clarify once and for all : The Transmutes for those gems do not exist on live They were datamined, but were ultimately not put into the game. You get them by killing Dragon Soul raid bosses.

As someone who pvps, I find the availability of these gems a bit annoying. Yes I know they introduced the purchase of pvp gems with conquest points. However, gemming split stat gems and full resilience is not optimal for anyone.

For anybody wanting to buy the uncut Queens Garnet and other epics on the AH, then sell the cut gems, just know they can take a very long time to sell. Like weeks on my server. There is no quick turn around on these. You might be able to squeeze 1-2k profit out of an epic gem but you won't be able to do it often. I've had 6-8 cut epics on the AH at the same time and never sold more than 1-2 a week max. Less lately. And every time you turn around someone is undercutting, plus you have the high listing fees. Not worth it.

I have frequently seen people trying to sell these in bulk, as many as 60 from one person listed on the AH at one time. Can anyone confirm that there is a dupe glitch involving these? Many of them are selling for too-good-to-be-true prices, and it seems like it may in fact be. I'd love to buy them for 800g, but I don't want to be supporting gold-farmers or exploiters just to have it taken away from me by a GM, or get me targeted for hacking because I took their bait.

So practically a pure pvp player cannot obtain this gem,except buying in the ah where this gem is too expensive.This is bad,I want this gem without going some dungeons.

The problem with this Gem is that the "active" population of servers is way down !
For Wowhead to show the buyout price at 35 gold is like getting kicked in the teeth
on my server the Queen's Garnet buy out is solidly 1500 Gold with mats selling for ~2200 Gold.
( If there is a dupe going around I wish they would come to my server... )

Cause the currency doesn't drop if you use raid finder ... it must be a non-raid finder heroic
( Just like the heroic gear )
