I wonder if your a druid and have this item turn to a cat , bear or bird does it keep the effect?

I can confirm it works while in form but I do not about everyone else, I found it awkward playing in that Flame druid form as cat .. I do not play druid healer but I have good idea now how they must have felt when blizz took away the tree form. I think they should give it back put the ability as buff or something too keep with it. .

Hello all, i'll clear a few things up that people are asking.

I just got this item and i can confirm that:

Switching into catform etc WONT remove the buff but WONT turn you into a fire cat, you'll just be the fire druid model but in cat form.

If your character is female, then yes you will turn into a female druid.

Casting while in this form will keep the form.

However, i cannot confirm swapping into flight form keeps/removes buff, as the cooldown is 1 hour and i haven't been able to try it yet, however, if cat form keeps the buff then i don't know why flight form wouldn't either.

(Small tip: If you have Kalytha's haunted locket, you can combined them both to become a ghostly fire druid :] )

If you're a male character, drink some Pygmy Oil to turn into a female gnome, then use this locket to turn into a female Druid of the Flame. I'm assuming this will work with Faded Wizard Hat too.

I received this item today and wanted to clarify a few of the item's rules regarding druids using this locket, as well as using this in combination with some of the other shapeshift items. Many druids (like myself) I'm sure who are looking forward to getting this item are wondering if using the item and then shapeshifting into cat form will grant you the fire cat model. Sadly, this isn't the case.

You are able use the following forms without negating the locket's affect, meaning when you use the locket, you will stay as a humanoid fire druid, but you will be given the bonuses of your form of choice:

- Travel, aquatic, bear, and cat forms (Have not tested tree or moonkin).

Once you shapeshift into flight form, however, you turn into a bird and lose the locket buff completely. It's also interesting to note that turning into the Sandstone Drake mount does allow you to keep the buff, although you take on the appearance of the drake.

The thing I don't like about this item is that it has a 1 hour cooldown! I mean, come on... it would be enough with half an hour!

Can be used with burgy blackheart's hat to turn you into a pirate druid! Note that you have to equip the hat before using the locket else it will not work.

Currently bugged: shifting into Ghost Wolf does not dispell this transformation, nor does it change your form into Ghost Wolf, you just get the extra run speed.

I made a list of gimmick items which you can use to transform your character into a different form or race or even gender to play around with. I didn't add items like weapons that provide a procc with a transform effect that only lasts a few seconds even though I know about them. My intention was to list all items with controlable transformations. Feel free to let me know if I missed an item!

I will be testing if this can be used in the Arena / Arena prep areas. No word on that yet.

Edit: Forgot to update, but it's not useable, as expected, in the arena. Use Kalytha's Haunted Locket if you're looking for something applicable to arena.

In the same way that this overwrites the appearance of druid forms and ghost wolf, it also overwrites demon form. As far as I can remember this is the only costume item that persists through metamorphosis.

This kind of shapeshift vanity item is awesome for druid, all of those item usually removes the buff when you shapeshift.
Im hoping that blizz will change the rest of those items like this :D ( after 6 years )

On other hand im using this while tanking severals za/zg some of them said something like
'Imba druid... you can tank on human form' or 'Tank, go bear ffs'
i lol'd :D

Mirror Image produces 3 extra Druids of the Flame.

Camouflage makes your wings glow bright white.

This works brilliantly with Vrykul Drinking Horn to turn you into a super-sized Druid of the Flame. Just make sure to use the Horn before the Locket. Enjoy!

Fun use of this item.

Go to spider hill in the molten front where the druids of the flame wander.

Find someone who is low on hp then use this item and run towards them.

I just want to, as a druid player, thank Blizzard for having put in an "override form mode" for druid shapechanges. While some creative timing with the Caverns of Time illusions could result in a human-shape shapechange, this item seems to reliably be an "override" shapechange that stays consistent over bear, cat, and moonkin forms. Anyone who has wanted another form to be in while dungeon/raid/geared properly for relevant content'ing now has this as an option. Can I get a disguise whoa?

also works with noggenfogger potion. turing you into a normal looking skeleton but keeping the buff. you also look epic whilst small!

also, when you go into shadow form, you go into shadow form as per usual and your shoulders turn blood red...

If your doing , you can't transform into a druid and walk up to the solar core, the real fire druid casters can smell a fake (of course that could be just me being an undead and all...........)

You can still shapeshift as a druid while having the buff from this item, and you can mount while having the buff and being shapeshiften aswell!
So if you then dispel the buff from Leyara's locket you will be in the druid form of your choice and STILL be on the mount :3

Don't do like me and try to use it while on your flying mount in the air, did it two times now by misstake, and it seems like it uses the cooldown, but you don't get the transform.. So, the hour cooldown is wasted.

Why is it only Nelfs are part of the fire druids (and by extension, there's only Nelf form)?
Aren't Worgen, Tauren and Trolls also druids?

Sadly, for Death Knights, the transformation is incomplete, as our eyes stay death knight blue, rather than take on the flame druid orange :(

As of patch 4.3 blizzard has buffed the locket to a 10 minute duration.

Hats off to Blizz for finally making a transformation item that doesn't screw druids out of the fun. This item is great to use while in cat form. Your appearance is changed, but you still make all of your normal kitty sounds, and there's nothing more entertaining than watching a crazed flame druid roar and snarl like a maniac as he tears his enemies to shreds.

Also, it uses the night elf jump animation for feral charge (cat), which means you will sometimes do a flip while you're flying through the air towards your target. Pure awesomeness.

The cooldown will wear out when logged out, allowing you to form, log out for 50mins, log in, still have the buff, and the cooldown will be at 10 minutes, and you'll be able to use it when the buff wears off immediately!
