Wow these Taurens can row fast, it took about a miniut to get from the nourthern edge of Thosand Needels to the speed barge. It is a nice linking quest so that the people leveling withought flying mounts dont have to swim the entire distance.

Just took the boat ride but, to my surprise, there was no boat! My toon just sat on the water's surface and sped to the barge. i wonder if this is because i havent purchased and installed the cata expansion yet...

To start this quest you must complete "A Grim Totem Are Coming" horde NPC Kanati Greycloud (Tauren over the bridge to the pillar in Westreach Summit), and for Alliance the NPC is Caryssa Moonhunter in Thalanar.

Indeed. Important to note that for Horde this is the start quest for ALL the quest lines on the barge, so if you do not do "A Grim Totem Are Coming" first you will not be able to do anything on the barge,

Quick note to hunters, and especially to sub-40 twinks-in-the-making:

Do NOT take the boots. While they are good, there are lots of better choices available from dungeon runs.

The belt is BiS for 39 & under, unless/until the Barbaric Belt is changed to also restore focus.

On a side note: I got Thousand Needles Quests while just going for the end quest by doing all it's pre-requisit quests and some side quests that were in the same area. (Also did a chain started with but afaik this is not needed.)
