A word of warning. DON'T DO THIS QUEST BY NOT GOING THROUGH THE PORTAL!

I did the same along with a friend cus we didn't realise, we just grabbed the quest without reading and ran there. If you don't go through the portal, the soul buff you get will not go away even uppon handing in the quest in, and there is no way to remove it. Killing yourself, or relogging will not work, you need to open a ticket.

Luckily I was on my lvl 41 alt and not my main grinding rep.

From what I have heard this has been a known issue since Beta and it was reported and not fixed and than transferred over to live servers and unfortunately it seems they aren't fixing it here either :(

The Mad Magus Tirth's Soul effect from the quest "The Mad Magus" is now zone-bound to Thousand Needles.

This is what mmo-champion says about the quest, however it doesn't seem to work for me as i have the (de)buff both in orgrimmar and tanaris.

EDIT: it seems that now it has been fixed

CANT find the quest and people on my server are all mad and not cool so they will ignore you even if you will give them 50g for the info.... At

the moment im at tousand needles but cant find the FIRST quest that i need to do to ''unlock'' the first quest of this series ^^

I am looking under the "?" in-game and there is a FAQ dedicated to this issue and it says to contact them in-game and they will assist with removing the buff.

Surprising to me that someone would actually want this buff. I've had it for about 24 hours on my alt priest and it's so bright I can barely stand to look at my character...very annoying. I've had a ticket up ever since I turned in the quest and kept the buff...no luck yet though.

Just logged in this morning at 11am and the buff has disappeared without a ticket open. must have gotten fixed?

After finishing the ritual, a small event will ensue:

Tony Two-Tusk is now alive again after the ritual finishes.
Tony Two-Tusk yells: I LIVE!

this bug seems to be fixed now. just did it today.. glowy buff went away as soon as i turned it in and i never used the portal.

For now, I am keeping the quest in my quest log and not turning it in yet so I can see the cool effects for awhile.

Normally, I can not keep the buff Mad Magus Tirth's Soul if I wanted the achievement Thousand Needles Quests.
This quest is a prerequisite for a lot of others in the zone and has to be turned in.

A little hint: If you keep the quest-item, you can run around with the Soul still on/inside you.

Looks really unique imho, but it only works in 1kNeedles.
